Hey Hive! I’m really trying to figure out what to suggest to FH as far as his attire and his groomsmen’s attire. I’m drawing blanks. A little help would be much appreciated! We’re having a casual, outdoor, fall wedding. My girls will be wearing the attached blue dress from JCrew, and we bought the groomsmen blue, grey, and white striped ties to match (picture also hopefully attached).
Now, we have been thinking suits, not tuxes all along, and even going as casual as the groomsmen wearing just suit pants with a white shirt, their tie, and the sleeved rolled up.
Dear FH doesn’t like ties on himself, nor does he like to wear white shirts. So, his suggestion thus far has been for him to wear a khaki suit with a blue shirt to match the BMs’ dresses, no tie, with the shirt undone at the top button. He wants his guys to wear khaki pants, white shirts and their ties.
I’m just having trouble seeing how it’s all going to look good together! Will khaki look weird with my diamond white dress if there are no other khaki tones in the wedding? (Colors are blue and sunflower yellow). Will FH wearing a blue shirt be a bad idea? I kind of would like him to wear a white shirt to match my white dress. Also, since the GMs’ ties have some light grey in them, I was thinking go with either black or dark grey pants…
Anyone have any suggestions or pictures to help me visually? Groom – Tie-less with a blue shirt? Groomsmen with rolled sleeves, no jacket, and a tie? What do you all think?
Also, my BMs are going to be barefoot, since we’ll be in the grass and we’re washing their (and each others) feet in the ceremony. What should all the guys do? Flip flops or barefoot as well? What about FH? I’ll be wearing wedge heels, so should he have dress shoes on that should be taken off before the foot-washing?
I know it’s a lot. Thanks for your help 🙂
