I know it's not a movie, but recently, my FI have been watching Soprano's with netflix.  Both of us had never seen the show before, so we have really enjoyed it.  We watch 1 episode a night.  It's like a treat.  I highly recommend watching a television series through netflix!  I think next we are going to do the Wire.

Run Fatboy, Run.  Super funny!  It's seems like most people haven't seen it.  It's a clever romantic comedy.

Step Brothers!! that movie is so funny! Also whip it, death race if you like kid movies Coraline was interesting- what I usually do with netflix is I goto the moviefone.com website and I just add all the theater movies into my netflix that way they are all in there for when they get released to dvd.

We saw 'Law Abiding Citizen' last night and it was pretty good. We also liked '500 days of Summer.'

If you haven't seen "The Hurt Locker" I really recommend it!  It's based on a bomb squad working in Iraq.. great movie.

OMG, we don't have cable, so all we do is watch Netflix!  Most of our queue is horror movies (I write a horror blog) but here's some general good movies we've seen recently: Adventureland, The Hurt Locker, Couples Retreat, Zombieland, A Perfect Getaway, Four Christmases, I Love You Man, The Taking of Pelham 123, Away We Go, Obssessed, Revolutionary Road, Spring Breakdown.

We recently saw Zombieland and LOVED it!  Really funny movie with a great cast.  :)  Up is also great, definitely one of my all time favorites.

Other movies: The Big Lebowski (LOVE), Gamer, Burn After Reading, I Love You, Man...

Also, make sure you check your queue every now and again to make sure a movie on the top of your list isn't available on instant queue (they update this all the time).  I can't tell you how many movies we've had delivered that we've already watched because of that.

If you're looking for something different... Spirited Away - it's an anime-ish type movie - gorgeous and fun to watch.

Another good one recently on our queue: The Departed

We just got it a month ago and my husband put the first season of Dexter on our queue...I didn't have any interest in watching it but now I'm addicted. I cant wait to come home each night to watch another episode of it. It's a really good show. I think it was a showtime series.

Last one we got was "Departures" which won the foreign language award this year - film from Japan, very touching with moments of comedy - I'd highly recommend it.

And also, "Death at  Funeral" which we just found out has been remade and is being released soon in America, but it's originally from England.

I need to get with 'Dexter' already. I have seen epi 1 of season 1 but that is as far as I got. I just never got back to it.

Weeds is also a great TV series. I thought it was funny. Oh and the Tudors seasons.

    -The Tudors

    Movies

-Wristcutters (sounds weird I know but I promise you its good)

-The Chumscrubber (again, REALLY good similar to Donnie Darko in some ways)

    -Gone Baby Gone

    -Lucky Number Slevin

    -Bonjour Monsieur Shlomi

-Gran Torino (soo sad but SO good)

-A home at the end of the world

-Horton Hears a Who (very existential believe it or not)

    -Idiocracy (HILARIOUS)

    -Inside Man

    -The Squid and The Whale

    -Thumbsucker

    -Waitress

    -WHen do we eat

One of my favorite movies is Goodbye, Lenin! It's German with subtitles, but don't let that scare you off. It's an interesting concept and a sweet story about what a young man will do for love of his mother. Really touching.

TV - Six Feet Under, True Blood (if you haven't been following), Flight of the Conchords, Arrested Development, Freaks & Geeks.

Movies - Cool Runnings (we've been feeling very Olympic lately), Role Models, Adventureland (second the motion), Motherland (amazing documentary, very sad but hopeful), Delicatessen (hilarious/creepy French movie), Be Kind Rewind, Hamlet 2, Notes on a Scandal, Reign Over Me (also sad, but Adam Sandler actually gets to act and he's good, plus Don Cheadle...), Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead, ok I can do this all day, 1 more - Trading Places.

Now I'm going to add all your suggestions to our Netflix...

Agreed with Mad Men... it's such a slow burn you just keep on watching it.

If you are looking for a comedy and have never seen it - put Secondhand Lions on your queue

I can't believe no one has mentioned WEEDS!!! it is my favorite show ever :D

Close seconds are Arrested Development and How I Met Your Mother.

I'm no help on the movie front, all the last movies I have seen were made by Disney :p

We just got the Invention of Lying. It should be here tomorrow.  Mad Men is super good so far.  I really like getting TV shows cuz you get more hours of entertainment/disc than with movies (unless you're comparing Mad Men (three shows per disc) with LotR (like 4.5 hours or something crazy...i forget which was longest)).

I'm looking forward to Whip It but it's a Very Long Wait for us now :( We just got Quantum of Solace too, if you haven't seen that yet. Blades of Glory would be appropriate for the Olympic season :)

Horror/Comedy: Fido was really good (zombie movie)

SciFi: Inner Space w/ Meg Ryan and one of the Quaid boys.

We're really into Criminal minds, NCIS and the Mentalist (unfortunately all caught up! :()

I'll have to steal some of these ideas too!

We saw Management with Jennifer Anniston and Steve Zahn at a friend's house a few weeks ago and loved it! I hadn't even heard of it before then. It is super funny. Go add it to your queue now and thank me later. ;)

I have added all these awesome suggestions and think we should revive this thread every few months because I love all the bee input and ideas! Thanks, everyone!
