@nycinnewport: Hi there, I am also getting married in Newport in May 2012. Where is your reception? Mine is @ the Ocean Cliff. Starting to get excited now that its 9 months away :-) After going to many showcases, we decided to book Night Rhythm. They have two bands, and we saw them both, but ultimately decided to go with the one featuring Rebecca, Meyer & Jerome (which is suprising cause based on the website song clips, I thought I would like the other group better.) Anyway, I put a link to their website below. They are based in Boston which might make it hard to see them. Good luck with your planning!

I live and work in Newport, RI. I see a lot of weddings and hear a lot of good and not so good wedding stories. For bands, I highly recommend Blockhead. They can play as a full band (4 guys), a trio, a duo, or just solo. They also can play cocktail hours or whatever you need.

Hi, I am a new joiner to the Weddingbee site! Hello everyone! I live in NYC and just booked our wedding in Newport, RI in May 2012. My fiance and I are not from the area. We are interested in some suggestions of fun wedding bands. Most people at the wedding will be in their 30's so ideally a band that can play some newer hits in addition to the classic ones. Also, any other vendor suggestions would be great as well.
