Does anybody have any GREAT recommendation for undergarments? Brand? Style number? I have looked online (which I prefer not to have to do since I really don’t do well with online purchases, prefer to try on) and been to several dept. stores and NOTHING. I am very busty, 36DD and wear street size 10 or 12 bottoms. My wedding gown is a 16, A-line, strapless. I don’t want any padding up top as I don’t want to add any more inches than I already have. 🙂 The style of the dress doesn’t allow for any excess bulk. Help please if you found something awesome that gave you vavavoom shape and no extra bumps or padding!

Victoria’s Secret strapless bras are amazing. I just got mine today (mine has padding) but I’ve gotten two from them before and I love them. They hold up really well and look super great.

Nordstrom and boutique lingerie shops are the best place for us “unusual size” ladies. I spend more on my bras than almost all my friends, but hey, it’s worth it to keep the girls up where they belong!
Also, I recommend a bustier, not a strapless bra, for a wedding dress. It stays up much better and it also tucks in the tummy a little (side benefit!). 🙂

Ooops… I did mean a bustier or longline bra NOT a strapless bra. Yeah… I definitely will need tummy help as well! Unfortunately Nordstrom had nothing that would work!

Have you checked out Frederick’s of Hollywood? They have a wide variety of sizes and styles…I tend to just shop there. 🙂 And I think they’re having a sale right now for the holidays. Yay sales! And let us know what you find…I’m sure I’ll be asking similar questions in a few months. 🙂

im not sure if this would work for you, but i am just wearing spanx (the kind that go from right under your boobs and have legs down to your thigh) and having cups put into my dress. 🙂 (since its corset it hold the girls right where they belong)

Do you need to wear a bra with the dress? If not, you could wear spanx for tummy support and then you don’t have to worry about the extra bulk 🙂

@blingybride: Can you have cups put in and just wear Spanx? I think that’s what I’m going to do. I don’t want to have to worry about a bra that exactly follows the line of the dress. Most bridal salons can put in cups for you so no bra is needed.
The spanx will slim tummy through hips with no bumps or bulges.

I’m also pretty chesty and am wearing the VS convertible strapless, it’s hands down the best strapless bra I’ve ever owned. Stays right in place, has an extra support band and 4 clasps. The girls are staying in place. link:
I’m also wearing the spanx that go from shorts to just under my chest. It’s full coverage and sucks me in, but without the painful boning of a bustier that pushes into my hips.
Davids bridal also has a really great bridal bustier that I wore when I tried on dresses there, I really liked that one as well.

I bought the Dominique 8950 from Davids Bridal. It is available from several on-line sources, however Davids was the only one where I could find it in ivory. Also, sizing is funny so I tried it on at a store first.
I picked this one because it is longer than most longlines–I didn’t get the pushed out “pudge” below the bottom part. These types of bras always add some bulk, but this one wasn’t too bad.

David’s Bridal Bras ROCK, and that is coming from a 42G, so you know that there has to be some truth to that statement.

I am a 34DD/E and I got this one:
because I need something with a low back for my dress. Mine was a halter, so it worked. I like Biofit because it gives some structure without a lot of padding.
