I’ve just discovered I have put on a fair bit of weight in the last 3 months that I want to shed. I will admit to becoming lazy in my eating habits and not doing as much exercise. I am not one for going to the gym/exercise classes as I find them an unnecessary expense. So I would like suggestions of things that I can do at home/out and about (but as it gets darker, out and about time is limited to holidays and weekends)

@FromA2B2013: Have you tried YouTube exercise videos, and Pinterest Fitness exercises?
Pros: They’re free, and really good.
Cons: Since you can do them at home, you’re much more likely to put them off/not do them. Are you ready to commit? 🙂

I loved JM 30 day shred. It was a great way to do it all in a short amount of time with results. It is easy in the way that you hit play and do your thing, it is not easy as what she has you do. You will get out of it what you put into it. I stopped because I can’t work out at home….I run to my bed every chance I get 🙂

Start with your diet- hop onto MyFitnessPal (yay, it’s free!) and get an idea of where you can improve your diet.
As for exercise, the DVDs and YouTube videos are probably a good starting point. If you find you’re not motivated enough on your own, see about getting a group of like-minded friends together for accountability.

Yoga and pilates- try doyogawithme.com
Also, check out Body Rock TV. The girl posts short (like 12 minutes) high intensity workouts, not to mention, she is completely shredded.
+1 to using my fitness pal to track diet and exercise

OMG Me too! I’ve gained like almost 8 pounds since the wedding in May. While it does not seem like much to some, its a noticable deal for my 5’2″ frame. I’m starting with my diet because its easiest for me to control while we go crazy trying to find a house.
