Okay, so, I’ve been looking at shapewear for under my gown and in the product descriptions I keep seeing things like “includes convenient flap for when nature calls!” or some such.
Is that like a removable crotch or something?? Does it actually work? I am really paranoid that I’m going to pee all over my undergarments if I wear one of these! And does this mean I can’t wear underwear – just shapewear? I like wearing undies, I feel gross if I don’t.
I know this is a seriously goofy question but can you guys share your experiences?

@HeyKaraoke: Spanx have a hole so you can still use the restroom and not have to take them off (which would be very inconvenient)

this literally cracked me up…
you will be fine; a friend of mine just wore them at her wedding! she peed with success 😉

Mine have a flap at the bottom, basically like a bra closure that you latch between your legs.

Spanx have a slit in the crotch that you are supposed to pee through. I will be completely honest though – I cannot pee through the hole on spanx. I ALWAYS end up peeing on the spanx. Why? I have no idea – I chalk it up to a lack of coordination. And possibly drunkeness. Like, is there a trick to it and I just missed that section of the girl handbook!?
I, obviously, stopped wearing them. I have regular shapewear undies that work exactly the same, AND I don’t pee on them.
This is the most embarassing thing I have ever posted. BUT I thought you should hear from all sides.

I wonder this too!!! I think I’d have a tough time coordinating myself. And um… what about #2?

I’ve worn shape wear wih the split crotch. I wear panties underneath and just push them to the side. Sit on the toilet with a wide stance. Make sure the hole is lined up, not too high or low. Pee while sitting straight up. If you lean forward or back it will affect your target. Pee, then wipe. I’ve never peed on mine but I still get nervous every time. You might want to wear it beforehand and practice to get the hang of it without a wedding dress in the way.

Thanks for your input, ladies 🙂 practicing in them beforehand sounds like a good idea!
@LilacViolet: I appreciate you sharing your side! This is exactly what I’m worried about.
@Pinkmoon: I didn’t even think about #2! Yikes.

@abax: This is what mine had. It unhooked in 3 places so I could do my business, no problem!

@HeyKaraoke: Haha yah. I just thought I’d throw that out there. In assuming it’s only for pee since that happens way more often.

This is totally Too Much Information but I just pulled mine to the side as I mounted the toilet front on – I’m sorry if that picture haunts you, but it was very convenient and no peeing on undergarments happened. Hope it helps!

@LilacViolet: It may be embarrasing but I love your honestly. I have had success with spanx but not going to lie, it takes serious focus and concecentration. But the control wear of the spanx are fanulous. I was considering wearing these but ended up with a bustier corset because I thought it would make for some nice getting ready pics. Spanx are necesarrily “sexy” if you know what I mean.
