I haven’t had time to talk to my pediatrician yet, but wanted some advice from other moms. We are vaccinating our son. I don’t want a debate about whether to vaccinate or not. Our pediatrician literally wrote the book on vaccines (actually he wrote/co-authored three books that I know of).
Baby T had his 4 month vaccines at the beginning of this month. After his 2 month vaccines, he had no reaction. He wasn’t extra fussy, no fever, etc… He just took a long nap after nursing and we were good to go. However his 4 month vaccines were different. He was fine afterward (apt was at 3:30pm) but around 6 pm he got fussy and at about 7 pm he started screaming inconsolably for 1.5 hours. His one leg was rock hard, swollen and red. He had a low-grade fever. I gave him infant ib profen and he finally fell asleep. The next day he was back to his normal self.
I don’t know if I should split his 6 month vaccines or not. I know that his reaction fell into the very normal category of side effects.
Have any of you had a child with a reaction to the 2, 4 or 6 month vaccines like Baby T’s? Did you split the next round?
I have a call into the pediatrician’s office, but just wanted to hear from other moms.
