@engagedsagebrush:  We bought a Dyson refurbished from when we moved in together, and now that we have two dogs and a cat… worth every penny. It wasn’t cheap, but it works really well and doesn’t require bags. And the sheer volume that we get up with it makes me slightly horrified, thinkig about all the other vacums I’ve ever lived with, that left all that stuff on the ground.

We also bought our Dyson refurbished from, and also have two dogs. It scares me to think of all the crap that our old vacuum didn’t pick up. And, my Dyson is hands down the easiest vacuum I’ve ever owned in terms of being able to go under furniture, uses no bags, the tools/attachment are seriously amazing. Honestly, I love my vacuum.

I have a Shark and it’s great! It was really affordable, too, when you compare it to Dyson’s and other more expensive kinds.

We were at Bed Bath & Beyond, ready to buy a Dyson, until a salesperson recommended a Shark. We’ve had it for a year and we’re so pleased! We have the white Shark, but I can’t remember what it’s called. It was less that $200. I’ve had Dyson and Miele in the past, and honestly, I don’t miss them.
