I need you decor advice! We are having the reception here in July in upstate NY. (Picture with round tables!)
I don’t have much of a constant theme or colors, just summery pinks, yellows, whatever! I was planning on decorating the area by the hanging lights with paper lanterns. I already bought some Martha stewart pink ones (below):
I have the opportunity to buy these floral paper lanterns below. I LOVE them, but will they look ok with the pinks?
I was going to eventually buy more, what colors should I get? I want there to be a good amount of them becuase its a pretty large space. Anyone have any suggestions?!

That space is lovely! I think the plain color lanterns will be better than the floral lanterns, just because the floral pattern is kind of busy, and that space already has enough going on (in a good way). I think the floral lanterns are really pretty on their own, but I’d stick with solid colors for the wedding – easier to match, less pattern competition going on. That’s just me though, they really are pretty and if you use them, I’m sure they’ll look great.
I think your space is awesome! What kind of feel are you wanting to go for? If you’re wanting to go more formal, I’d suggest getting floor-length linens. If you’re going more country/rustic/casual, I think the linens you pictures look wonderful.
Centerpieces are going to be a big opportunity for you to bring in any color you want. I’d probably incorporate candles to continue the warm feel of the space.
I think the strung lights look good. Lighting is huge to me, so I’d want to make sure we had the right amount of lighting that we could leave any harsh house lighting down (although that place doesn’t look like it has too much) and get a really pretty ambiant glow.
What time of day will your reception be? Will it be dark outside? Those photos show lots of natural light, so just take that into account when deciding on your decor.

I would stick with multiple colors of the plain ones, the floral ones might not have as much impact. I do love the string lights in that picture though!

Such a beautiful venue! I agree that the solid lantern in different colors will probably look better. The ceilings are rather high so you may miss out on the details of the other ones anyway, depending on how high up you were to hang them. And definitely go with the string lights! I’ve been to a wedding in a similar looking place where the bride did the string lights and it just made it feel magical 🙂 Good luck to you! It will be fabulous!

it would help to put a colour palet together. you may want to check out http://www.theperfectpalette.com/ for inspiration. that will guide your choice in colours for lanters, centerpeices and everything.. will make choosing much easier.

I like the idea of multiple colors to lighten up the room, the floral ones could work too, i just can’t picture them with yellow though. btw, I saw a similar set up, if this was your ceremony space too?

My first thought when I saw the last pic was to turn those large columns into trees. It would be easy to add real or artificial branches to the top over the angled pieces to make tree branches. Add lots of mini lights.
Given that you picked light and breezy summer colors, I might take a leap and use sheer tablecloths rather than solid linens. A summery sheer color to the floor with lighting underneath for when it gets dark would be lovely.
I wouldn’t use a dark sash or even seat covers. Your chairs are great. You don’t have to use ruffled cloths. An ordinary sheer cloth would be fine.

I’m going against the grain and actually really like the floral ones. I think it would add to the floral summery vibe. It’d give it a nice shabby chic look.
Also I think we are date and dress twins!

@CBetta Bride: That is so weird! And we are both in Brooklyn! How is your planning going! How are you accessorising the dress? I totally agree with you about the lanterns, however my fiance says otherwise and is really against the floral =(
