I'm opting to get this Pnina Tornai style dress. Ones with the see thru corset (shown on Say yes to the dress). What is your first impression with you see it on a girl?

It's not my taste, but if you have an awesome body, I'm sure you could pull it off!

I personally would not wear that in front of my dad, my FIL or any family... I'm more traditional type of girl. That said, if the middle was not see through, the dress would be really beautiful...

I voted for ugly.  I guess I can understand how someone can think the dress is slutty or too revealing, but in reality it doesn't show that much...it's just not appropriate for a wedding dress, at least in my opinion.  That to me is just tacky.

I'm just giving you my honest opinion, even though it might not be what you want to hear...because you asked :)

I honestly just do not think that it is appropriate for a wedding.  I think more people would be talking about the dress than the bride and groom.

I voted ugly, there's three different things going on in the chest, corset, and skirt, and I don't see how they go together.  Looks very discontiguous.  I've seen some beautiful dresses that are on the more 'revealing' side, but I just don't like how this one is put together.

It says wedding night to me, not wedding.  I would not let my grandmother or father see me in that. And I don't think FI would like his buddies seeing me in it either.

i'm not a fan of dresses with the see through area. however i think this dress would be gorgous if you had them line the whole thing.

well, i like simple clean lines so first off, im not a fan of all the ruffles and bling and stuff...

but the see thru - i agree, is not appropriate for family and a wedding. wear see thru to a club, put some pretty fabric on your wedding.

or if you really want a dress like this, have them put fabric underneath and you could take day afer pictures without the fabric panel.

Ok thanks everyone....Maybe I will have it lined then, so you can't see thru it.

I think the first one looks like lingerie...and to me that would not be appropriate for the wedding...if you have it lined it might be cute...

is the second one see through? Honestly not loving the second one either...

I like the top better on the second one, and would probably like it more if not for the arm poufy bands.

I think of stripper fairies when I see those dresses to be honest. If you love it, then it is all about how you feel on the day, but IMO, the focus will not be on you no matter how stunning you look, it will just be on th esee through corset.

Neither dress is my style at all. The first one, if lined, would be much better than the second in my opinon. But unlined, I don't think it's appropriate for a wedding.

I think having it lined is a great idea!  The dress is gorgeous, but that much skin is too much for a wedding, IMO.

Ooooh, not in love with the second one either.  Sorry.

Maybe something like this?  Still sparkly but a little toned-down.

The second dress is not my taste, but what really matters is if you like it or not.  To each their own, right?

can we put ugly and slutty in a category together?  I couldn't decide on which to vote for.   I went with ugly.

I agree that I don't like the see through part. If you have it lined though so that it's a full dress it would be much better.

I don't really  like the second one either.  But you should really go for what you like.  If it looks good on you and you have the confidence then go for it.

Maybe you should've added an option to the poll for "Would be gorgeous with lining". That's what I would've voted for. Other than finding them ridiculously overpriced, I actually like Pnina dresses. My wedding style is more bold and flashy and her dresses fit the bill. However, as you can tell from the reactions, the sheer top is taking away from everything else that's beautiful about the dress, it's the only thing people see.

The second dress is too poofy for me, I prefer the first one. I think it would be perfect with a very thin white lining.

It is actually not the corset that bothers me but the '80s-ish lace.

I'm not a huge Pnina fan myself, but that being said...

As helpful as all the bees are, and I love the ideas everyone bounces off eachother on here (I'm obsessed with it actually!), I would take opinions on a dress with a grain of salt.

We don't know you personally, and when it comes down to it, you should wear the dress you love, popular in a poll or not.  I'd hate for you to buy a dress b/c however many of us said it was beautiful, when in your heart your pining for a different dress, or vice versa

    You do you :)

    And good luck!

I think if you had it lined it would be better, but when I first saw it I thought it was the start of a dress! Like, the inside boning. I don't think your wedding dress should be see through. So, I voted for slutty! I did see it get lined on say yes to the dress, and it look so much better. The dress could be pretty I think.

Whenever I see those on Say Yes To The Dress, I cringe.  The worst was the father who asked for the skirt to be more dropped-waist to show off her toned hips.  GROSS.

I really dislike how you can see the boning.

I don't like these styles, but that's just me.  I think you should go with what YOU want.  I don't expect everyone to love MY dress... but I love it, and that's what counts!  :)
