Okay - I'm al about mixing things up - and so when we do the dollar dance at our recpetion I don't want the same tired slow songs you always hear - ON NO.....I want a pure 1990's slow song dollar dance.

My reasoning - I want reactions, like "OMG i haven't heard this in forever" and for it to be even more fun, and it will give me something to talk about when weird Unlcle Greg dances with me and I don't know what to say....maybe even prompt more people to get up and participate (not because I want the money but because this will be more like a recieveing line too since we're not doing one do to time restraints between wed and recp, so I'll get to talk to everyone this way)

80's music is too "classic" now and it's standard and wonderful don't get me wrong - not enough UMPH so 1990's it is....something funky, not played a lot....

Lend me you FAVORITE 1990's slow songs :-)

Pure 90s slow songs? Definitely K-Ci and Jo Jo's "All My Life." Probably the cheesiest song EVERRRRRRRR. Oh, and "I'll Make Love to You" by Boyz II Men, anyone?

Um, End of the Road by Boyz II Men definitely.. although it is kind of a break up song it brings back so many six grade "mixer" memories! Hands in your dates back pockets while dancing.... sigh!

My other favorite 90's slow song and much more appropriate for a wedding is So in Love by All 4 One.

I vote Aerosmith - Don't Wanna Miss a Thing! And Meat Loaf - I'd Do Anything for Love (But I Won't Do That)!

Everything I Do by Bryan Adams

Kiss from a Rose by Seal

Always be my Baby by Mariah Carey

Right Here Waiting by Richard Marx (earlier 90s)

    BOYZ II MEN!!!!!!!!!!  ABC-BB-D!  ;-)

Seriously, "I'll Make Love II U" (the actual way it appears on the album, as I own it!) or "On Bended Knee" would be fantastic.

Also, Vanessa Williams "Save the Best for Last" is another favorite.  Good luck trying to decide!

This song is probably not usable, but it brings me right back to the 90's every time i hear it:    Twisted Keith Sweat

or what about an N'sync or backstreet boys song, that is very 90'2

Future mrs its a dance where the guest give you a dollar (usually they give you more) to take a turn dancing with each of you. I had never heard of it before this either. I went a wedding in TX and was like I totally want to do that.

     I totally vote for aerosmith!

    Eeeee! Best thread EVER!!!

Mr. Trebuchet & I have been having this discussion recently. We're both huge 90s alternative fans, and we're having a heck of a time finding a first dance song. We forgot how depressing 90s slow alt music was :)

I'm bringing this thread back with Only in Dreams by Weezer; I love that song!  It's one of our dollar dance songs.

"She's got a way"  Billy Joel

"Got my mind set on you"  George Harrison

There are lots of fun 80s ballads, I know you said you thought they were expected, but they might be fun.  Like "When I see you smile"  Bad English.  What about Eric Clapton, or unexpected Beatles songs ("I'll follow the sun")  Do you want something funny, "Just a friend"  Biz Markie.
