I think the Bee skews folks idea of what is “normal”. Lots of ladies here have huge honkin’ rings but plenty have what I would consider to be very normal size rings (yours included).
It is a beautiful ring and I think it looks lovely on your finger. Your center stone is smaller compared to some but small isn’t necessarily bad in my opinion. You said it yourself, you guys bought the ring you could afford and you have plenty of years in the future to upgrade if you want to. Upgrade only if you want to (not because an internet forum told you to), or love the beautiful ring you have 🙂
I’d prefer a smaller center stone over a too-large one but that’s my own personal preference.

FutureMrsGoitia5152015: Personally I think it looks very elegant and delicate however if you want a larger stone I think that would look good too. Just make sure it’s something your FI is comfortable with right now, I think it looks fine as is so if he wants a little more time to save up for the upgrade I would wait a little so he’s totally comfortable making the purchase 🙂

FutureMrsGoitia5152015: Your ring is beautiful. And it looks beautiful on you. I like the look of your whole set all together, too. I don’t think it looks unbalanced or out of proportion at all. I understand where you’re coming from, too, as I also wear a size 8-8.5. I always feel paranoid about how things look on my fingers, and being around WB has only made me feel more self-conscious about them because it seems like a lot of the ladies on here have much smaller finger sizes.
As for whether or not it’s “wrong” to upgrade your stone at a later time …
There’s really no “right” or “wrong” decision. It’s a very personal choice between you and your FI/husband (depending on when you might upgrade). Some people feel very strongly that it’s absolutely wrong to upgrade and others feel that there’s nothing wrong with it at all. But the only thing that matters, in the end, is how YOU and YOUR FI feel about it. If you guys are happy with upgrading, then it’s the right choice for you.
(hope that makes sense … lol)

I think it’s super pretty and it looks great on you.

It was smart for your fiance to buy a ring he could afford. The ring is very pretty and stylish. If one day you are able to upgrade and you want to then do it at that time. I wouldn’t worry about the wedding pictures and it doesn’t sound like you really have an option to change it right now anyway since it is what your fiance could afford. I suppose if your fiance didn’t mind you could consider a different type of stone for the center stone that would be cheaper and replace the diamond now with a larger less pricey type of stone.

I love the ring set, it just looks really unporportioned on your finger.

The e-ring alone looks kinda lonely to me, but the set looks great. I like how they work together. That being said, though, if you’d like to get a bigger center stone, go for it. Just know that it looks beautiful as-is to me.

today we changed it for a 1.02 carat marquise. I love it! I thought that my half carat round looked too small on my size 8.5 hand, but I think the 1.02 marquise will be perfect! What do you ladies think
