Hi Bees, first post here!
Super excited to wear my Allure 9025 gown for my upcoming wedding in November, except I have been thinking of altering it a bit, and wanted to know what you all thought.
I love the illusion back of my gown, and have been thinking of altering it to have the liner (the non-sheer part) lowered to make the illusion back even more dramatic. I’m wondering if my dress looks overtly modest with the higher neckline, and was hoping that making the back lower might make it look a bit sexier and trendier. Another part of me knows that it does look very nice the way that it is, so why mess with a good thing?
The seamstress said this would be an easy alteration, but I’m torn on what to do. What are your thoughts? Pics below are of me in the dress:

You look fantastic in the dress at it is, if it was me I wouldn’t alter it, but you’re the one wearing it. If your seamstress tells you it’s doable and you’d like the dress to be trendier, go for it!

I loveee your dress! It is so similar to mine, though, so I’m a bit biased hehe 😛
I’m kind of torn because I do think the altered back would look really good, but I ended up voting to keep it as is just because it is so classic and elegant as is. I don’t think it is too modest because you have the sweetheart peeking through and the illusion front and back. Also, it hugs your curves beautifully which I think makes it just the right amount of classy and sexy 🙂

Personally, I think it looks amazing as it is (and you look amazingly gorgeous, holy moly!). But it’s your dress and your decision. I really like how it looks in the back as it is, though–I do not think ‘modest’ describes the dress at all. It’s revealing in a classy way.

Thanks Ladies! This really helps to confirm what I was thinking.
I do really love it as is, and I think that I’m maybe just getting some backless dress envy seeing all the options out there! I probably will just leave it, I worry that if I did go through with changing it I might just end up regretting it, especially if it doesn’t look like I envisioned.

maplebride2014: I think it is lovely how it is. I photoshopped it lower for you, and honestly I don’t think lowering it will really make it more sexy.

MissLibra: Wow, thanks for doing that! It really helps to envision it like that! I think you’re right, it doesn’t really make much of a difference after all, and would probably just be a waste of money to add that extra alteration.

maplebride2014: No problem! It is so hard to visualize alterations sometimes!

I think your dress is absolutely perfect as is. You have a lovely shape that gives the dress all the “sexiness” it needs.

maplebride2014: Make it your own and then frame it and hang it in your closet/bedroom! THEN YOUR KIDS CAN LOOK AT IT IN AW AND KNOW THEIR MOM WAS A TOTAL FREAKING BOMBSHELL!

How tight is the back? Mine is very similar but quite snug. I went will straps for comfort but feel like the buttons are just barely closing…
