pinkgurl86:  I love the current way it is set, it’s super unique and I don’t think it makes any sense that that way of setting it would affect it’s percieved spread.

If you don’t want a gap, you can always change it’s profile so that the prongs start higher on the setting thus making the shank thicker in order to sit flush with another band.

As far as upgrading, if you really want to, go ahead. I think it’s a little silly since you aren’t married yet, and your ring looks plenty big enough on your hand.

I don’t agree with the jeweller at all, I actually think your stone looks huge for a 1.2ct, and I have looked at many a ring photo.

That being said, if your fiance is happy to do it I don’t see why you could upgrade the stone now and get a simple band, if you are going to have to rework the head anyway, why not? I would urgenyou to look at a 1.5ct stone next to yours before deciding though, my guess is that it won’t look that much bigger at all.

Perhaps go for a simple band now, reset the head and then in years to come, take the money you saved by having a simple band and use it to upgrade much higher than 1.5ct.

pinkgurl86:  I think if you’re going to upgrade (even though I wouldn’t personally), you should go bigger than 1.5. It’s not really that big of a set up from 1.23
