I'd have to be convinced that the graphics and fonts were much nicer than what I have already. I was able to design our invites, programs, guest book poster, escort cards, etc. using Powerpoint of all things! So you may find that you can create what you want using programs you already have. Here were our invites:

Here are the programs and escort card attached to our favors:

@nicole those look great!
Good point, so you'd need to see plenty of high-quality examples to make it worth your while! Thank you for your kind feedback!
Honestly, probably not, but I might be biased because both of my parents studied graphic design, so I'd just have them put together something if I wanted it DIY.
ETA: I think the truly hard part of DIY & why many people choose not to do it is the actual printing process/buying materials. If you offered your designs plus charged for the labor/supplies to actually print the designs, then I think people may be more interested. I realize you have probably considered this, but that's what there's more of a market for IMO.
We've been able to accomplish actually more than we had predicted just by using Microsoft Office programs and templates, so I doubt I'd consider it. I think had we failed at our attempts and got frustrated after going at it ourselves, we would have just bought the cheapest ones that look neutral.
@les105 Thanks for this. Good Point! Yeah, I am considering adding a printing option to it as well.
@tiffybear Thanks for your feedback! Can you share your creations? Would love to see how they turned out!
I don't believe bees are likely to be your target audience. Most brides who come to boards have a tendency or are inspired to DIY a lot. So when we look at cute ideas we think "How can I do that?" more than "I want to buy that". That said, if you added a printing option then it becomes a different thing. I'm thinking particularly of succesful etsy businesses who come up with invitations for brides.
@babymilka74: Thanks for your feedback! Yeah, I agree. I was a DIyer myself, but it took so much time that I wished I'd had a tool to help me.
Looks like the results are split... looking forward to more opinions from you guys. Should I spend time on this?
There are already soo many programs that already do exactly that, some of them free so I would not pay to use...
@vmec: Thanks VMec!! I haven't looked at the competitive space much since this is pretty much an idea that I have. Can you list a few for me to check out?
I put "No Way". A home printer will never compare to the quality of professional printers and equipment.
@beccybaby: Thanks for weighing in, appreciate it! What if I added an option to print it for you?

Hi! I frequent the boards often to get a feel for the DIY trends and I have this idea to create a wedding DIY stationery design tool thats helps you create programs, menus, table numbers, place cards, and favor tags (basically all of your day-of stationery). For a small fee (between $25-50) you can use professionally created graphics and premium fonts.
I personally could have used this for my wedding, but I wonder if others would be interested in something like this?
I used picnik to create a lot of my items, what else are couples using?
If you could help me understand if this is worth moving forward with, I'd really apreciate it!
Thanks!!
