The time is getting closer to the wedding and I feel like I'm going to forget all sorts of "little things"..such as cake topper, card box, bubbles/horns (for after the ceremony), etc... does anyone have a list of things of not to forget for your wedding?  I feel like I've been so focused on the big picture that I am going to forget things we need to have!  Thank ya

What I found was most valuable for me, was to sit down and walk through the entire day in my head. As I did anything in the make-believe day, I made a list of things I would require. So I went something like this:

Wake up: phone charger is packed (I use my phone as my alarm, so I needed to make sure it was charged)

Shower: whatever you need. For me, the extra was that I wanted to remember a shower cap, because I needed day old hair for my updo.

Girls meet here. Head to the salon. Remember to take veil.

    blah blah blah.

Eventually I got to things like the ceremony. So I thought of things that not only I would need, but general things that needed to be there.

    -programs

    -marriage license

    -rings

-candles & pictures for famliy candles

What did we need for photos? OK, I need to pack a cooler full of water (and ahem, beer), bug spray, flip flops (sinky grass= no heels), extra lipgloss, etc.

Same for the rest of the day. Really, just walk through it all- what do you see, and what do you need to bring for that moment in time?

And to help you out, I'll make a short list, though it won't be all inclusive, and you may not be using all things:

    -programs

    -marriage license

-any ceremony music (on a CD? iPod? getting played?  Do you need extension cords or speakers for any of that?)

-tips/payment for anyone that needs to be paid day of

-anything for photos: other shoes, emergency kit, water and maybe a snack, props, directions for anyone who may not know where they are going

    -cake topper, cake knife

    -thank you speech

    -toasting flutes

    -card box

    -favours

    -guestbook & pens

    -stuff for centerpieces

-stuff for extra reception decoration if you are providing your own

-any sort of stationary you may want photographed (invitation, STDs), or need for the day (bar menu, signs for guestbook etc)

-suitcase or whatever for wherever you are spending your wedding night. And know which car this is in! I forgot to bring a pair of shoes to wear away from the hotel the next day, and my MOH forgot a pair of pants lol!

@mrsjesse:  dumb question.  are the toasting flutes just for bride & groom or do we need to get everyone these?! :)

@cherrycoke: Just the bride & groom, and only if you have a special set. We skipped them, and just used the venues regular wine glasses (we skipped champagne entirely).

If you have a planner/coordinator you don't really have to worry about much of these things to remember at the last minute, she will help you out.

If not and you are getting help from friends and family PM me and I can share a great PDF checklist with you. Either way the checklist is a good one.

Tip: Pack two storage containers and label them each for ceremony (place everything in there)

Reception: Include everything and the person(s) that are helping you out review the contents with them in great details at least 2-3 days before.

Give the marriage license to the officiant on the rehearsal, they are glad to bring it back to you on the wedding day.

Think about nothing other than relaxing at least two days before and you must EAT breakfast, lunch, and your dinner at the reception! :)

    Hope this helps.
