So i am in need of a imaginary Hug and cheering up from my Beehive… Mr. Xray and I got engaged this past St. Patties day March 17th and it was amazing beautiful and a wonderful memory. Since then I have only had my ring for a collective 5 weeks….. and its been almost 5 months….. Some of you may have seen my previous “Yay im finally getting My Ering back and finally it will be perfect!” board where the excitment was oozing from every pore on me as my work clock ticked by at even slow for a snails pace to race to the jeweler to get my ring back! I have copied that story on here if you wanna hear the whole thing I apologize how long this is…. its been that much of a problem
Well needless to say last Friday my ring wasnt ready as I had been promised… looks like when setting my diamond into its brand new setting it ran into a snaffu and they had to ship my ring and the new ring back to the designer in NY to get it straightend out and set….. so fingers are crossed that I should have it back by Friday this week…. but was warned it was a bit of a stretch as the designer has stated they have ALOT of orders they are trying to finish up so may be longer….. I miss my ring!!!! Have any of you gone thru this?! I just need a hug!

So just to give you bees a back story my fabulous Mr. Xray completley surprised me this past St. Patties day March 17th 2012 by hiding a stunning Maevona Eday square cut engagement ring that was beyond anything I could have ever dreamed of! It was perfect! But as most engagements go my finace was a little overzealous on the sizing since he didnt know exactly what to get he went a little on the big size causing the ring to slip right off with the slightest of movements. So I took it to the jeweler to have it resized so not as to fling it across the room every time I waved at some one. The jeweler told me it would take about a week to have done, but because of our brand new engagement would put a rush on it and I should have it back by tomorrow. I was THRILLED to know I wouldnt have to go a week with out it and then would have it in time for my first dress shopping excursion with my family! Well got the call the next day I could pick it up and rushed over to see it. It fit better (tho still a little big but the jeweler assured me i shouldn’t go smaller to fit over my knuckle with out any issues) and something didnt seem right but being i was in a rush didnt even say anything.
It was 2 weeks Later when i was helping my mom with dishes after dinner I really took notice as to why it just for some reason didnt look like it did when Mr. Xray gave it to me…. and even my mom made a comment. (i wasnt wearing it while washing the dishes put up in our little plant window above the sink under a overhead light) when I noticed the extreme discoloration of the 18k white gold, and how the band that originally had a detail called a Knifes edge (its like a if youve seen an old sword how they have the raised point in the middle so looks like a pyramid when you look at it straight on) all along the entire band was now completly gone and so was the gold stamp and designer stamps. It looked like some one chopped the band off at the setting and just attached a cheaper metal to the band. I was devastated!!!!!
Mr. Xray was so upset by this as it was a custom ring that took two months to get here and was no cheap date like any ring out there. We took it to the jewelers that next day and my MOH and her hubby came along as we had plans to go to dinner with them after. Well first the jeweler that helped Mr. Xray wasn’t in that day so we worked with another gal that really didnt work out well as she really tried to play the whole thing down like we were over reacting and it was all normal, and she could see the details that we described (and by see it she was looking at it thru her little magnifying glass) and the only way to fix it tho she didnt see anything to fix we would have to send it back to the designer to have them recast and remold this and didnt know how long it would take. Well Mr. Xray said that that was what we wanted to do and to just do what it took to get it done as it was there mistake. Well next day I get a call from the manager who really didnt seem to care at all about us (found out she had already put in her 2 week notice so she really could have cared less)
I explained how we felt about it, and she said they would send it over night but she didnt know what they would do as “Ive never seen this ring nor did I sell it to you so I dont know what details your reffering to but I guess I have to take your word for it and be ready its gonna take a long time to get back as this desinger is known for taking a long time with there work” and at that point all i wanted was for this to be done and done right and thought that was the only way. So off it went 5 weeks go by with out a single update from any one at the store, the only time i heard anything was when I was calling to try and get some info out of them as to some sort of ETA or what was being done (this was my Ering for gosh sakes!!!) and just kept getting dismissed by the manager who was nothing but rude. Finally 6 weeks later it was finally in, Mr. Xray rushed over after work as I had to stay late to pick it up and meet at the house….. thats when I get a call from Mr. Xray “Hunny I dont want you to be upset….. but its not right and it doesnt look like they did anything except redip it and laser on a new stamp.” I was devastated and so was Mr. Xray. The worst part Mr. Xray really tried to put up a fight with the just cheerful manager when he picked it up stating all this was still wrong as she did everything she could to just get him out of the store “I think it looks great, I didnt see the original, just take it home to your Fiance and see what she has to say about it” which really sent him over the edge of mad. So we go in and get to talk to our original jeweler and first thing he said “This is not the ring I gave to Mr. Xray to purpose to you with!” and set to work immediatly to find out what happend. We were then informed that it was company policy to have the managers take care of all customer complaints which is why he wasnt included to begin with. Our new options were to have a new one made all together or send it back again to have it redone. Mr. Xray being very sentimental wanted it sent back as he wanted it to be the ring he proposed with and not a “copy”. We were assured that it would be rush ordered for a time line of 3 weeks. Well 3 weeks go by and stil no ring.
It was a total of another 5 weeks till it came back in, and lo and behold once again IT WASNT FIXED it had a partial knifes edge on part of the band that was off center…. it was a NIGHTMARE COME TRUE!!! at this point Mr. Xray is ready to just return it and get his $$$ back and start all over as he and I are so upset and defeated by this whole thing. I can understand once cause of the lack of the first managers enthusiams for customer service but AGAIN?!?! that is just sloppy and terrible as it was now June and Mr. Xray had proposed in March and I had only had my ring for a total of 3 weeks out of our engagement due to all of this disaster. They made some great offers to try and make us happy including a very significant discount on our wedding bands, and this time Mr. Xray consented to having just a brand new ring molded all together as to insure there cannot be any further mistakes with the design and that this would be the last straw if it wasnt right this time we were done. And i agree even if it was the perfect ring.
Well 2 weeks later and the new ring is in and all they have to do is reset my stone into the setting and *fingers crossed* this time its done to perfection!!! (and the correct size) they also had the bands made already and sent over with the new setting as it is a 2 band set that is special made to my Ering to sit perfectly on each side. so Bees……. I am anxious….. excited…. and ready to burst to *HOPEFULLY* have my beauitful ring back where it belongs!!!!!!!
Wont lie if its not right this time Bees…….. Mr. Xray and I will just have to throw in the towel and go with some one else and a new ring all together!

Yes I had an issue with my ring and had to wait a while.
The one upside is when you do get it back it’ll feel almost like wearing it for the first time again since you’ll be used to not wearing it. I actually told my FI I’m going to take a break from the ring from time to time to get that excited feeling back once and a while.

Oh, Gosh! HUGS to you! What an awful, long, drawn-out drama for you, when all you and he want is your ring, on your finger, where it belongs.
I feel just awful for you. Take heart – this will eventually be over and done with.

I had so many issues with my ring I ended up having to return it. It totally sucks!

@Misscandice8907: Lol Congratulations!!! Thanks for all the support everyone I really hope it doesnt get to the point were we have to throw in teh towel and return it…. but if it is it is….. Lol Mr. Xray joked wiht how long its been he might have to re propose all over again and if so would be way less stressful cause I already said yes once so be easier this time around….. which made me laugh thanks eveyone!!! I really appreciate the support!

It took us 6 Weeks to find my E-Ring … I was about to give up and tell Mr TTR that the Engagement was off (not really, but I was super frustrated)
When we did find THE RING, I had to wait 2 weeks for the ring to have the Diamond we chose set etc… it was a very lonnnnnng 2 weeks.
So I cannot imagine how you are holding up at the 5 month mark !!
Hopefully this will all be resolved soon.
