Hi all, I am hoping for some tips from the Hive! I have pretty decent skin and I don’t usually wear foundation. I have fair skin with freckles, and while I don’t love them, I hate they way they look when halfway covered up by make up. It looks weird and ghosty I think.
I have combinations skin, dry cheeks and oily-ish t-zone but it isn’t too crazy. Currently I ususlly just wear a bit of concealer under my eyes, eyeshadow primer (Too Faced) and neutralish eyeshadow, I have pleasantly rosy cheeks but add a tiny dab of cream blush, fill in my eyebrows a bit and dont’ have breakouts. Sometimes in the winter when my face needs a bit of a pick-me-up I put one drop of foundation in with my face lotion.
I have normal pores, I suppose, on my nose and chin that I would love to minimize. They arene’t huge, but they are there. I use my clairsonic thingy every evening to keep them under control.
So, do you all recommend primer? Primer plus the drop of foundation in my lotion? Or, should I try a full coverage foundation? I’ve never tried that. I can’t imagine not seeing my freckles! It wouldn’t even look like me, but hey, I am up for an adventure.
Recommendations, anyone? I wouldn’t mind everyday recommendations as well as recomendations that will look good in outdoor light and photos.
Thanks! I am CLUELESS.

I too have fair skin and freckles. I would strongly reccomend the Porefessional primer by Benefit. It’s expensive but works wonders! I would also suggest a BB cream (I really like Stila Stay All Day 10-in-1 HD). I use it and find that it doesn’t fully cover my freckles but doesn’t make them look washed out (on me anyways). Both of these items can be found at Sephora. I would ask for a sample of the BB cream to see if it matches your skin tone before investing in a full size. Also, make sure not to get the kind one with SPF for your wedding because I’ve read that SPF can ruin photos.
Another foundation I like is Make-up Forever HD (also at Sephora). I find this to be a little more drying though so if you have dry skin, maybe mix some lotion or bb cream in it. It has so many shades to choose from though so you should be able to find one to match your skin tone perfectly.

I definitely recommend a primer for special occasions. I like Smashbox and NARS. I don’t wear it every day, just days when I’m doing full makeup or for evenings and special events when I need staying power.
For foundation, my favourite brands are Chanel, Giorgio Armani and Make Up For Ever. From Chanel, the Aqualumiere Aqua is a great everyday (or day to night) foundation – it’s lightweight, glowy but gives decent medium coverage. For special occasions, I really like Armani’s Luminous Silk Foundation and also their Maestro formula (which is more full coverage). They give a beautiful silky finish and excellent staying power. MUFE’s HD foundation is great for photos too, in conjunction with their HD loose powder.
