wow thats expensive. try negioitating.. my wedding flowers are orange roses and purple and white stock.. we are getting 8 boutiners,3 cosages, 5 bridemaids bouquets, my bouquet. a "special"toss bouquet for less then 700.
i went to lots of appointments to find a good price.. the most expensive place wanted 1200 for all the things above. the cheapest was 500 something but there were shotty pictures
Hydrangeas and mini calla lilys are on the more expensive side of flowers. One way to cut costs is to tell the florist your colour and budget, and they can do the same arrangements, but with cheaper flowers that are still the same colours
I keep hearing that Maureens in WNY has great prices for what they offer. Maybe try them? I haven't done florist sppointments yet but they are going to be on my list as well as blooming place because I liked a set up they had at a bridal show. My dad always says that it never hurts to negotiate. The worst they can say is no.

So I have had 4 floral appts. Wegmans, A Blooming Place, Floral Accents, and The Flower Barn. (Western NY area) I have gotten 2 quotes so far. First off, bridal bouquets are outrageously priced...$125 from Flower Barn and $185 from Floral Accents. While my bridesmaids bouquets were $50 from Flower Barn and $80 from Floral Accents. I have disected the parts of these invoices and have manged to cut things from the "want" list. I'm still coming up to numbers of $1,600 at Floral Accents (including tree rentals and centerpieces). Then there was a number from Flower Barn $665.28 for my bouquet, 3 bridal bouquets, 1 boutineer, throw away bouqet, 2 wrist corsages, and 2 candlelebras for the church... Is it just me or is all of this crazy? I wanted to splurge on the decor and atmosphere. I could make some of this myself but at what stress level?! After experiencing the process I'm thinking over the options: 1. Get bouquets from the cheaper place and the trees and centerpieces from Floral Accents? 2. Negotiate and one stop shop at Floral Accents?
Does negotiating work??? If I walked in there and said $1,200.00 would they work with me? I don't event have expensive flowers...blue hydrangeas and orange roses, mini calla lilies...berries...I don't know what to do at this point. My area feels limited in creating your own. I already make 10 out of 17 centerpieces myself.
Anyone negotiate and win the lower costs?
