The parasailing is awesome!

theres a place called Floyd’s Pelican Bar.   You can probably set it up from your hotel, they take you out about an hour drive, then you take a boat out to it in the middle of the water.   It’s a smabatman made driftwood bar and you can chill there for a few hours and they have beer and will cook you fresh caught fish.

youtube it!  It’s awesome

I think everyone should go to Rick’s Cafe once.  It’s a total tourist trap, but it’s fun and I’ve met interesting people from around the world both times I’ve been there.  Otherwise, Pushcart is a really nice place to watch the sunset.

I’ve read that doing the private 100 candle dinner at Ivan’s at Catcha Falling Star is amazing.

I would not bother trying to go to Dunn’s River Falls or anything over on that part of the island.  You’ll be on a bus for most of the day.

ETA: Oh, one thing we wanted to do but couldn’t due to time constraints is the One Love Bus Tour.  It’s free and lasts about 3-4 hours, and you hit 6-7 local bars.  You just tip the driver.  I understand he does it to promote the local economy.  I’ve heard great things about the tour!

Our resort took us on a really great snorkeling trip in Negril. We also did a “booze cruise” out toward Rick’s Cafe, and some people on our boat did cliff diving there. We did a shopping trip too, but I wasn’t as impressed with that. Otherwise, I really just enjoyed relaxing on the beach.

Agreed about visiting Rick’s Cafe. Yes, it’s a tourist trap, but watching the professional cliff divers as well as the visitors jump from lower areas is really enjoyable and helped ease the pain of paying USD$5 for a Dixie-cup of rum punch! Seriously, just watching the guys who jump from the top of the teeny-tiny platform hundreds of feet above the water will make your heart stomach jump into your throat!

Which resort are you staying at?

your hotel should offer scuba diving.   The night dives are the best because most marine life come out at night.

there should also be horseback riding offered through the resort

@engleman10513:  The cliff diving is terrifying!! And SO FUN!!

My FI and I went to Jamaica for a wedding in January and we went to Ricks for drinks/ watching the sunset (real good sunset). I bruised a rib but I’d still do it again.. my FI was so worried I’d get hurt he didn’t do it and regrets it.

@engleman10513:  I think it’s 30 ft.. not entirely sure. Just tried to google it, apparently it’s really dangerous, but it sounds like alot of people don’t jump properly and end up landing weird. I jumped like a pencil.
