Weddingbee boards

Hey all,

EngagedToPanda and I have been tossing around the idea of a Northeast PA meetup, so I wanted to post it publicly and see who is interested. It seems like there are a few of us on the boards here, and it would be cool to meet in person for lunch/brunch sometime.

If you're interested, could you comment here and we can try to coordinate. Depending on where everyone is coming from, we can try to find a meeting spot and nail down a date.

My wedding isn't going to be in NEPA, but I'm from Tunkhannock so if I happen to be up there on the date you decide on, I can try to make it!  Keep us posted.

The next few weeks tend to be pretty hectic for me. I'm thinking either the weekend of June 20th or 27th? This should give us enough time to make it work!

I'm also not sure how far people are willing to travel for this? NEPA tends to cover a wide range of places at times. Do you guys want to start suggesting? Would Wilkes-Barre be a middle ground? Maybe more south? North? Once I get a general location I can start looking for fun places. 

Hey all, just checking back in... I'm free the last 2 weekends in June. How about June 27th? An afternoon coffee meetup? Brunch? Some supper? I was thinking an afternoon meetup might be best, but if most of us need a different time, we'll go with the majority :)

June 27th is good for me... Afternoon would work best for me at whatever location is best... Pittston, Montage Mountain, Scranton, WB?

Ok cool. I'll have to apologize a bit here - it's been a really tough time at work so by the time I get home I'm only glancing at Wedding Bee as of late. :( From what I can gather, Wilkes Barre seems to be in the middle of everyone's locations. I tried looking for places slightly south of me, like Hazleton, but I'm not really familiar with them. If anyone knows a good place, please suggest it. But I thought of a couple of suggestions in the Wilkes Barre area:

La Tolteca - my favorite, but you've gotta like Mexican food. It's wonderful, and not too expensive. http://www.menusnepa.com/latolteca1.html

Would meeting at 12 for lunch work for everyone?

It doesn't sound like we'll have so many people that I'll need to call before hand, maybe like 5 or 6 of us? Also, not sure what kind of stuff we should do - name tags? Cheesy games? Just chat about Wedding Bee? lol Any thoughts?

All right, 12 at La Tolteca unless the majority of people can't do that. I re-read this thread and it sounds like 6 of us might make it. I'm a dork so I bought name tags so we can match ourselves up with our usernames, lol.

There are benches outside so we can meet there rather than try to find people we don't really recognize inside. I'm trying to pick out an outfit or something that will make me stand out so everyone can find me.

If anyone is really nervous or thinks they'll get lost, just send me a private message and we can exchange numbers and whatnot. :)

Final reminder - are we still good to go for noon tomorrow? I will be there - it's supposed to be nice out so I'll wait on the benches for people to show up. If you have questions, need directions, send me a message and I'll check this in the morning.

Did anyone try to make it?

I got to La Tolteca about 5 of 12 today and sat in my car for 15  minutes, then spent another 20 sitting on a bench by the door but I didn't see anyone very 'bee' like there. I'm really sorry if anyone showed, but I didn't see you - only families and middle aged or elderly couple there. I was there until 12:30 and it looked like no one was coming so I left.

 I was just going to ask how things went... I wish I didn't have to work .. I would have been there. So sorry you had to wait for so long and then leave. *hug*

Thanks teeleaf - I was thinking about it after the fact, we probably should have sent out PMs or something so everyone would have had a reminder in their email. Oh well - next time maybe. :)
