I will also be attending the bridal show @ stabler! I went to HS in bethlehem, PA .I will check on the dates for the expo in the wilkes-barre area. Any help is much appreciated and I will look into the photographer - thanks!
@bethbu02: I'm getting married at Hotel Bethlehem! I grew up in Nazareth and now live on Boston, so I feel you on the long distance planning. If you'd like any vendor info, PM me - I have most things booked at the moment.
Thanks! I think I will going to the bridal show in bethlehem that wknd though!
I am a NEPA bride and I am planning long distance as well. It has been much easier for me because my fi and I are originally from NEPA. I have done a lot of research and I believe I have found some of the most reputable vendors. I am using Central Park Flower in Olyphant (in high demand so book them asap if you think you may want to go with them). I also have a great photographer. Their name is open vision, it is a young husband and wife team. They take amazing photos. They have since moved to another state however they travel alllll over for weddings. They actually drove 5 hours to come to me to do our engagement session. Here is their website http://www.openvisionphoto.com/ They also have a blog with a ton of pics that you should be able to link to through their website. If you have any other specific questions let me know. Also, Constantino's catering is fantastic and one of the best priced in the area.
Bethbu02, I am also living in Baltimore, MD and just came across Friedman Farms. The fiancé and I have been looking for a venue like this for some time but couldn't find anything in the area. My only concern would be the lodging. It would be fun to have all of guests to stay in vacation rentals or a lodge near by since they're all out of towners. Where do you plan to have guests stay? Does anyone from the area have reco's? Thanks!
Hello, I am a NEPA bride as well. Born and raised. All the suggestions above are great. My dad actually lives on Manor Dr that you take to get to Friedman Farms and my cousin was just married there in August. Its grogeous. We spent a lot of time decorating it. But there was a lot to work with!
Caterer: RD Catering, Carbondale
Constantinos
Rentals: Boulevard Rentals, Clarks Summit or Grand Rental, Scranton
Florist: Four Seasons, Peckville
Photographer (PM me for $ details) : Kim Winey, a bit pricey and in VERY high demand here
Simple Moments Photography; Ana Baranich. Amazing and very reasonable. We are getting her and a 2nd shooter for 12 hours, 1200 edited images on cd, a book, some prints, our e-session with prints and a cd of 25 edited images all for a very modest price.
Music: DJ: Mike Walton
Bands: Trip Fall, Crystal Skies, Tribes the Duo
I am right in the middle of planning about to hit our 6month countdown so please feel free to PM me with any questions, if you need contact info or any more opinions. Happy Planning!
My Fiance and I are living outside DC and we are getting married at Friedman Farms as well! Neither of us are from the area either (its between our two families) so if you find any venders let me know! What are your ideas for the space?
My cousin used the branches and twinkle lights that were there and did a verrrry long table down the middle with rounds on either side, she had about 280 guests. Ivory linens to the floor. The centerpieces were large vases, which had twine wrapped around them, filled with branches and oragami brids, birds was the theme. We strung hundreds of those birds across the back part of the room, and along the center with fishing wire. It was gorgeous all lit up. She also hung about 80 paper lanterns. Cocktails on the deck and inside...one note here..make sure you have enough alcohol. They ran out way before the end of the reception. Kim Winey was the photographer...amazing. Boulevard Rentals provided everything. The bands were the Bog Swing Band and Coaltown Rounders.

Hello brides! We just booked my wedding @ Friedman Farms in Dallas, PA and are so excited!! My fiance and I both live in Baltimore, MD and are trying our best to plan this wedding long distance (his parents live in wilkes-barre, PA). Are there any Northeast PA brides out there who have any recommendations for photographers, bands, djs, florists, etc? We have been google'ing like crazy but any input from actual humans would be great! I hope to hear from someone you soon and happy planning!! :)
