I am going next Friday to get my wisdom teeth removed which I’m a little nervous about but not a huge deal. I’m also getting two baby teeth removed- which means I’ll have two gaps in my smile…
I know this is necessary before braces but I’m super nervous about having two gaps in my smile… I’m also nervous about the braces, I’m getting self ligating braces which are suppose to hurt less but still.
*cough* This also pushes back wedding plans because I’m vain and don’t want to get married with braces.
All of that said I am excited for the end result
Edit- I guess this should be moved to wellness?

In eight grade I had 8 teeth pulled, then my sophomore year in High School I had another 6 pulled and chain ligations put on and then braces (I have screwy teeth, didn’t loose my first one until 5th grade). Not to scare you but the ligation (sp?) was super painful. I missed 4 days of school and was on heavy painkillers. I wasn’t expecting it, had I gone in thinking it would be bad I don’t think it would have been as big of an issue. My teeth didn’t fully come in until the end of my freshman year of college. (I was super good looking in my braces and missing teeth let me tell ya!) Long story short, it could take longer than you think for your teeth to come in. This wasn’t meant to scare you, just wanted to give you a heads up on MY experience. Good Luck!

I’m getting self-ligating braces which are probably different than what you had- they aren’t suppose to hurt as much. This also means I can’t have ridiculous colors on my teeth which my SO is glad of.
I don’t think it will take too long- I trust my orthodontist when he says it should take a year and a half or so (depends on how my two teeth come into place).
That said I do expect for this to hurt- I’m not under any delusion.
