I am sick to death of trying to DIY a birdcage veil, Bees. Sick of it!! I have read every tutorial on the net, looked at pics until my eyeballs bled, and I cannot get the damn thing to lie right on my head!!
So, I surrender. The birdcage veil was apparently not meant to be (unless someone has miracle instructions??). I keep ending up with it too puffy or wrong angle or whatever.
I was thinking instead of shaping the netting and attaching it to my flower fascinator and wearing it on the side, where it’s not even attempting to come down over my eyes. It will probably bug me less this way anyway. I wondered if anyone else had done something similar?
I want something bridal in my hair / on my head for the reception but I am wearing a traditional veil for the ceremony and know it will drive me nuts.
FYI my hair is short (bob, just below chin length) and straight as a board and that’s how it will be in the wedding also. Think sleek.
Here are my inspiration pics (though the last one is a bit large for my liking).. opinions”? I wonder if I should lose the big flower and just go for something simpler like in this first picture… (flowers and maybe a brooch?) Should I loosely gather / bunch it up or make it a defined cut circle?
