(Closed) New appliances – Anything special that needs to be done before using?

We just bought a new place with new applicances too. I did turn on the oven for about half an hour before I acutally used it. It did have a burning plastic smell. Other than that just started using them all. NO problems.

Let the oven run for a good 20 minutes before using; there are going to be some manufacturing residues that need to “burn off.” Don’t forget to vent and open your windows!

I usually toss a box of baking soda into the fridge; we just swapped out our stove, fridge and dishwasher this year!

I ran the dishwasher once on an empty cycle before using our dishes in there.
