I am new to weddingbee, as I was not impressed with theknot.com… looking for something a little bit more relaxed. My Fiance and I got engaged last October, and we are expecting our first baby boy Mid-September. We have been considering eloping before baby comes, but because of insurance and the baby coming so soon, I think we might wait until baby is a little older, sometime next year. I am planning on a small wedding if we don’t elope just us and baby. Any other pregnant brides on here in a similar situation? These are the two dresses I was considering if we were to wed this summer- probably somewhere in New Hampshire in the White Mountains.
I would like to have something similar to the tiffany rose dress even if it was after the baby, but haven’t seen anything similar through a US company.

Welcome to the hive! I eloped a couple of weeks ago and it was great. I would check out the elopement boards to get some more perspectives and ideas. I’m not pregnant so I can’t offer anything there but there are lots of eloping bees!

My husband and I eloped! Typical story we were young and broke and just wanted to be married. I still feel a twinge of regret when I attend beautiful weddings, but in the end we ended up not spending a ton of money we just didn’t have and hey, that’s what vow renewals were invented for anyway.

We’re (and our little boy) eloping to Hawaii this July! We chose to do this because it will be less stress, less expensive, and we get to enjoy our vacation time there as well :-).

Thank you for the support, ladies! I will have to check out the elopemnt boards for sure. Hawaii… now that sounds great, I’ll have to check back with Fiance on that one though! LOL But yes, it is definitely the better financial option, considering we are saving up for a starter home, and I really don’t want to deal with the stress of planning a larger event. @ Nat_can, do you know of any affordable venues for elopment in Hawaii from your planning?

I had my baby in September 2011 and we are having a destination wedding in Hawaii this October! She will be 13 months old and will hopefully be walking down the aisle with my other flower girl. We were engaged for 3 years before she was born and didn’t see any point to speeding things up just because we were having a much wanted baby.

That hippie lace dress is pretty awesome.
