Hi everyone! I came across this website while doing ring reaearch and it has been such a help seeing everyone’s beautiful rings and their advice to others. So I’m hoping you may be able to give me some insight as well. My fiancé and I went shopping for wedding bands and just like I saw so many other people post about, I had a problem finding a band that fit my halo. My ring has diamonds underneath the halo and along the underside of the band so finding a fit for it was a problem. I was set on having a band that fit snug to my ring and didn’t have a gap (now I’m seeing how so many of you have unmatched bands and I really love both looks). The jewelry store my engagement ring came from contacted the maker of my ring and and they did say they have a matching band. I was so happy I ordered two of them right away because they told me they would be the exact match to my engagement ring. I was very set on my ring and band being the same width and relayed this to the lady at the jewelry store. She assured they were the match. My bands finally came in last week, but after I picked them up I’m not sure that they are the match or even look good with my engagement ring. I went on the maker’s site and saw that they have other engagement rings with this same band so I’m thinking it’s a universal band for multiple rings of theirs. The bands are not the same width and the engagement ring sticks up higher than the bands. I’m know this is typically normal with a halo and I’m okay with that, but the different widths are really throwing me off. Now I’m not sure if I should keep them or try to return them and look for something else or even maybe have something custom made. We’re not getting married until March 2015 so I still have time. My only possible issue is that I don’t know if they will return them as they were ordered. They did tell me upon ordering them that they wouldn’t make me keep them if I didn’t like them, but the story may change now that I have them. So now I feel that I’m in a time crunch to make a decision. Thank you in advance for your help!

nicole.marie: I kind of like that the bands are slightly thinner than the band on your ering. Makes it more obvious that they are separate from your ering, rather than looking like one ring with 3 rows of diamonds on the band. But that is just my opinion, you have to decide if you like it that way or not . . .

I understand your concerns about the gaps, however I think this whole set actually looks really gorgeous as it is. I personally prefer when the e-ring is slightly higher than the bands; I think the dimensions help showcase and flatter the centre. <br />In the end though, I would just see how you go after a a few days or so and go by how comfortable it feels to you. I think it will look beautiful either way. =)

Well I think it looks lovely! Like really really nice, I don’t think the fact it stands up a bit more than the band is a bad thing, I think it looks good like that. I would agree though that in the pics it looks at though the width of the halo ring is slightly wider than the band, however, I looked at the pics before I read the text and thought this was how it was supposed to be. I actually like the look of different widths, I have chosen a wedding band that is a different width to my ering because I think it adds a bit of depth and texture to the setting. But if you are not happy, then just contact the jeweller and talk to them about your options, then you have all the information!

I think the bands complement your ering very well. I myself like gaps and also like the ering being taller than the band. But if you’re not sold on the bands, just return them and keep looking; you deserve to love your set.

I think it looks perfect with your ring and allows your diamond to shine as a separate ring from the other two. The other two bands hug the ering closely enough to make it look like a set. I wouldn’t tamper with perfection, it rocks this way! Honest.
Edited to also say: You do have to be happy. I would be over the moon with this combo, but in the end it’s your choice. You will be wearing them for a long time.

I really like your ring sandwiched between the two thinner bands! It reminds me of my ring (which is one whole ring, not three separate) which looks as though it has a wider band in the middle and two thinner ones on the outside.
