If I could go back to Portland, ME for a weekend with DH I would do it in a heartbeat.

I went a few years back with my best friend from college. It’s adorable!

My husband and I stayed at the Brewster By The Sea once in Brewster MA and it was AMAAAAZING. The innkeepers are so incredible and they do have spa services, we did a fireside couples massage, then had chocolate covered strawberries and champagne in our room by the in-room fireplace. We stayed in the Refugio Suite, it was just great. I highhhhly recommend!

We recently stayed at the Stonecroft Inn in Ledyard, CT (right near Old Mystic). It was phenomenal–we had a whole suite to ourselves, with essentially gourmet breakfasts–it’s a B&B–and we ate in the inn’s restaurant for one of the best dinners ever.  In-suite jacuzzi and keurig (we love our coffee) and lots of nearby wineries, as well as wandering historic Mystic and the boatyards.  It was cold when we went (early December) but absolutely fabulous.

Anywhere in Maine, but my favorite spots are Portland (great restaurants!), Kennebunkeport (check out the White Barn Inn for a splurge), and Camden (although it may be a bit muddy in mid-March).

Maine!!! Anywhere in the Wells/York area is awesome. Our wedding spot 🙂 We also have a beach house in Wells. It’s a totally beautiful area.

Try the Cliff House in Ogunquit. It’s fancy-shmancy and has a ridiculous spa!

ETA: Shoot, just saw that they don’t open for the season until April 15. Darn!!

Also try the Meadowmere Resort in Ogunquit (they have a great spa, 2 hot tubs, a roman spa, 2 pools, a movie theater, an arcade, a pub – we stayed there the weekend we got engaged). Get the honeymoon suite!

I recommend the Kings Port Inn in Kennebunkport.  They have gorgeous rooms (most of which have jacuzzi tubs).  They also run really great deals, such as $99 per night for a room with a jacuzzi tub. AND they have complimentary breakfast!  Can’t beat that.

Here’s their website: http://www.kingsportinn.com/

I also recommend the White Barn Inn! It would be a huge splurge, but if you can afford it, it’s worth it. I only ate dinner there, but it was by far the best I’ve ever had. I’d love to do a weekend there. Although, I went in the sring last year and a lot of the town was shut down.

I’m also (obviously) a huge fan of Newport, RI. I love it because there are fun things to do year round, in the winter they have an outdoor rink down town.
