Having a small beach wedding in Narragansett, RI. We Need ideas for a Rhode Island themed wedding menu that dosnt involve a clambake. Too messy for our taste. Future Hubby wants Clam cakes and chowder and lobster rolls , & Clams Casino….but what else? Not everyone eats fish. New England brides could you post your themed menus. Need ideas Please!!!

@Sweetkerryb: I went to a great wedding in Newport where the starter was clam chowder and one of the appetizer stations was clam strips and cocktail sauce. Entree options were lobster roll with salad, a steak, or a vegetarian pasta. I think it very nicely covered all the bases. Oh, and there were chocolate covered dried cranberries on the candy buffet.

@Sweetkerryb: I grew up in New England and the taste of fried clam strips is the one thing that sends me right back! Craving some now!
I love the theme and I think your FI and the PP have great suggestions. The cranberries are such a cute idea! For non-seafoody ideas, maybe corn on the cob, cole slaw, red potatoes (roasted or boiled) other sides that you might find at a clambake. A hearty risotto, grilled veggies, meatballs or sausages also come to mind. You could pretty much season anything with Old Bay and it would fit too 🙂
I’m having a seafood restaurant reception (although in Florida, not New England) but our non-seafood appetizers are spinach dip, bruschetta, and spicy meatballs, and our non-seafood entree is beef filet with mashed potatoes.
