Would you consider getting married at a campground? I have a friend we drove around looking at some places. I can post some links for you. There are quite a few places within the driving distance you mentioned to Boston.

ps: Am not the camping type, these places have full electricity and indoor venues because she only wanted ceremony outside.

oh and Congrats on your new engagement!

Only two come to mind that I know of.  Andover country club has a few rooms available (I think 18) and hotels very close by.  Waters Edge in CT is about 2 hours from Boston, lots of rooms, resort and spa type place.

I’m shot a couple of weddings at the Warren Conference Center and The International which both have on site rooms. What type of venue are you looking for? I’ve shot at most venues in the area, but I would need more info about what you are looking for. Feel free to PM me. Congrats and welcome to planning your wedding and The Bee

Have you considered getting married in Boston?  There are many hotels to choose from but also historical venues within walking distance from hotels.  It’s a great place to spend a weekend!

@jamaes6:  Ahh I see, that makes sense. Well the first place that came to mind was the Omni Mount Washington Resort, but it’s more like 2.5 hours from Boston I think.  It looks very cool in photos and I’ve always wanted to check it out myself.  Maybe there are some other mountain resorts that are closer to Boston.

Hubby and I live and work in Boston as well. 🙂 We got married at Alyson’s Orchard in Walpole New Husband. Just over two hours from Boston. They have lodging (but not enough for your entire wedding – Keene New Husband is about 20 minutes from the venue and has a TON of hotels).

Also if you are willing to extend the distance – I grew up near here and it’s pretty amazing.

@jamaes6:  If you love the Newport mansions, you can certainly get married in Newport with your budget! Have you looked at Ocean Cliff? Even their in season Saturday weddings will fit into your budget! I have more details about pricing if you’d like it. I had considered this place for my wedding. It’s so gorgeous and they are very nice to work with. You could also look into Blithewold in Bristol (I also have some rental pricing for this venue if you’re interested), and I believe The Chanler at Cliffwalk should also fit in your budget. I have thoroughly researched Newport and the Newport area for venues. It’s certainly a doable thing with your budget. Let me know if you want any extra details!

And if you’re flexible on dates, some of these venues are significantly less expensive in May or in the fall/winter.

Have you considered Portland, Maine or Kennebunkport, Maine? Both have so many amazing venues.

Unfortunately I only know CT as that’s where I looked.

I almost picked Anthony’s Ocean View as it has a resort setting and is very close to downtown New Haven (inexpensive hotels, great night life, and a short cab ride away).  It was also affordable ($90 on Friday/Sunday, $100 on Saturday, $50 midweek for buffet).

Another good place to check out is the Wadsworth Mansion at Long Hill Estates in Middletown.  It sounds exactly what you are looking for, but there is no place for everyone to stay.  You would have to take out a block of rooms at a local hotel (Marriot in Cromwell most likely).

Riverview in Simsbury is also nice, and there are a lot of little Inns close by.
