New event coordinator and no call!!

I completely understand- my wedding coordinator was switched and the new one tried to switch EVERYTHING on me. She was trying to charge me for things the previous coordinator had already agreed upon at a set price and told me certain things couldn’t be done when I was told they could. We compromised on a lot, but I am having to deal with a lot of things she is changing due to it not being in the contract (who would have thought you need every single itty bitty detail in the contract..) It’s costing me an extra couple grand.

Luckily, she informed me as soon as it happened and 8 months out. I can’t imagine all of this happening so close to the date. I would keep contacting them until he responds. When he does, make sure everything will be as you agreed. It really sucks because he will be sort-of a stranger on your big day, but if you can get over the fact he is new and he will still provide you with what you want, don’t freak.

eecuadrado:  Luckily we aren’t paying until the event- it’s based on consumption. I am hoping it comes out less than we budgeted for. We are only reserving 3/4 the restaurant and she is trying to minimize the impact of closing it for open dining (profit for the retaurant). So, she is telling me there are fees for this and that and charging me more for rentals I may need. She is also trying to switch the room I use and trying to convince me it is larger (it’s not) and more convenient (it’s not) so she can have more open dining space. I will not be giving her very good reviews.


Good luck with your guy- I’m sure he won’t be THIS bad! lol

My venue went through three different coordinators while I was engaged and I was never informed of any of the turn overs. The only reason I knew about it was because I was in contact with another bride getting married on the same day in the time slot after mine. There was a lot of back and forth about there is a rain plan/there isn’t a rain plan and there is a place for you to get ready / there isn’t a place for you to get ready. It was super frustrating to get the details set with one and then have another change it. They also kept telling me and the other bride different things so we kept catching them in lies. I ended up literally double checking everything at my rehearsal dinner because we had it at the venue.

Happened to me too. I wanted my money back, but the venue went above and beyond to make things right. The old coordinator,  to be frank, sucked and the new girl is doing a much better job, so we are very happy.  Good thing too, because if they would have given our money back, we would be getting married in my parents’ (very small) backyard
