While at the post office yesterday I saw the new stamps that were recently released. There’s the new herb set to replace that GD polar bear for postcards:
But there’s ALSO new first class stamps that commemorate 12 different battles of the Civil War:
I’m a HUGE history nerd (pushes glasses up on nose) and it’s kind of totally inappropriate to use these on wedding invitations, but on the other hand they’re so great I’m kind of tempted.

Since my fiance and I are both scientists, I kinda wanted to get the American scientist stamp series…but I’m happy with wedding cake and white roses too 🙂

I was excited when i found out a few months ago about the new herb postcard stamps. I bought the “Garden of Love” forever stamps when they came out on Monday for my wedding invites.

@ohheavenlyday: Oh go for the 150th stamps. I totally would have if they’d been out in March. [Fellow nerd. Those are cool battle illustrations. I wonder what other ones they have?]

Probably Gettysburg, Antietam, Chancellorsville, Shiloh… (pushes glasses up on nose and snorts).
I’ve decided to use them. They’re awesome! We’re Southerners, it’s legit.

I just got a STD with the new postcard stamps, and I am SO jealous of new brides! I hated the polar bears on ours!
