-I feel gulity about mine too but I keep telling myself he wouldnt have bought it and picked it out himself if he couldnt afford it, and it did put him in debt by any means soo yay for pretty sparkley things :)

Congratulations and your ring is gorgeous. I got engaged on 11/11/11 and am still on cloud nine. I also am still not use to saying Fiance. lol
I felt a little guilty too. But I love it. I never expected to have a diamond ring (call me crazy). But I have talked a couple friends who think it is beautiful, so I am reassured. I just feel lucky that he picked out something in my taste. Not everyone's SO is that tuned in.

Congratulations! I too got engaged on Christmas day after 4 and a half years of dating my fiance (weird!) I've already read Bridal bargains: secrets to throwing a fantasic wedding etc. (definitely worth the 10$ on amazon- tells you about all the tricks/scams/phony charges vendors try to pull!! I feel so much better and better prepared for all that's to come) and got one other book. I can't wait for all the fun to begin! :)

Hi! I got engaged on Christmas morning and I've been on cloud 9 ever since. I have a gorgeous ring and a wonderful fiance (so not used to that word yet!) We dated for 4 years 3 months before he proposed, and lived together for 2 yrs 4 months. It was still a suprise though, I just thought it would take him much longer to commit.
I actually found the jewlers card a few weeks ago, but it didn't prove anything, only had me suspicious :)
I'm so excited to be here and talk about weddings with people who won't get annoyed after 100th comment lol. I've only been to a handful of weddings in my life so I'll probably have a million questions. We're looking at a long engagement, 2 years 3 months. which I'm not thrilled about but I'm okay with, as long as it's no longer than that!
We went to the jewler yesterday so he could pay it off (didn't want me to notice a lot of money missing from his bank account so he signed up for a payment plan, but now that i have it he just paid it off in full--didn't want to be in debt over it. And I'm happy about that!) The jewler announced to the world how much he owed for it, but I didn't want to know!! It was waayyyyyyy more than I ever ever expected, so now I feel guilty :( I hope he didn't think I expected that...
