Soooo my last post in this forum called attention I have a water themed wedding… not near water (minus the lake by the venue).
I want to use this card because my Fiance proposed in Jamaica on a beach. He made a little sandcastle and had a little speech made relative to the sandcastle when he proposed next to it. I am from the Midwest so this won’t make sense to most people as it still seems like a destination wedding invite, but it makes sense to us as it is still water themed and our reception slideshow has the pictures of him proposing by the sandcastle he made.
The invites will have the jacket and be the same ecru color as in this link:
Please let me know what you think!

Yea……..not so much. Unless you are having a beach themed wedding these are not that appropriate. If you really want to put the beach in there somewhere why not with something a bit less formal, like your STDs!

I think the idea behind it is cute, but I think it might be better to incorporate little details that only have meaning to you in the wedding itself. For example, in center pieces, table numbers, etc. It might be best to keep the invitation as representative as possible of your wedding, otherwise guests might get confused. It’s kind of the “introduction” to the whole event.

I would assume that it was going to be a beach themed wedding or at the beach. They are really cute invites though, but if only you and him will get it then it seems a tiny bit strange. The invites are the first thing people see about your wedding…it’s the introduction. My invites were a picture of a Palm Tree over looking the ocean at sunset…(we’re having an evening wedding at the beach)
Maybe you could use the sancastle theme somewhere else? Save the dates? Table numbers? Programs?

We aren’t doing Save the Dates as no one in our area typically does them. The wedding has an overall water theme and I already bought these, so I can definitely add to the design. Our cake is a ‘water cake’ and it’s blue.

I would also be confused as a guest receiving this. Unless your reception has sandcastle centerpieces or something I think people may be a little confused. I would also tend to dress more casually if I got this then you may intend people to.
It’s very cute, but I think your guests may not understand at all.

@thewheelsonthebus: They know the story behind the proposal, so the majority will know… I guess it’ll just be friends of my parents that might be confused. It’s fine, though. I already purchased them so I’ll have to bite the bullet now! LOL.
