After having two babies in two years, I am ready to get my body back. Well, I’m only having my second tomorrow and won’t be dieting or exercising for at least 6 weeks, but I’m still ready!
I want to start this thread for other new moms who, like me, have to juggle new motherhood and fitness and want to see other’s success, help when times get tough and share their experience.
So I started at 128lbs, finished first pregnancy at 159lbs. Went down to 135 but was never able to get back under 130. Then I got pregnant again at 135lbs, and am now at 168lbs.
I would like to go back to between 125 and 130, where I feel the most comfortable with myself.
In the next few weeks, I’ll be focusing solely on welcoming my new little girl and taking care of my toddler. But I know a chunk of the weight will come off by itself. I’ll try to post weekly updates. Hope I’ll find other ladies here. 🙂

I’ll probably be joining this thread sometime after Novembet after my DD is born.

@Cory_loves_this_girl: Yay! At least I won’t be alone!
2 weeks post partum now… My daughter is doing great, and eating like a champ! I am looking forward to her sleeping better at night, but who isnt?!
As of yesterday, I am 3 pounds away from my second pre-pregnancy weight. I am so relieved that the weight is coming off so fast!I would like to lose 10 pounds to get back to my first pre-pregnancy weight. This is not such a difficult goal, at least I think! But after having my first baby, I was never able to drop the last 7 pounds no matter how much I worked out or how well I ate. So I guess I’ll have to see. for now I eat well, I really try to curb my crazy appetite with fruit and drinking more water. I try to nap every day as well, since sleep is so important for fitness.
It’s weird though, my body is very different than before. I have those huge boobs, a small waist and small thighs; but I can’t fit in any clothes from before getting pregnant. It seems like my hips are wider and I don’t know if they’ll go back to normal.
I used to be a size 4 prior to first baby, then went to size 6 after… And now it seems like I’ll need a size 8 because I can barely squeeze into my 6.
So… Do hips shrink back? Should I buy 2-3 pairs of pants to get me through a few months, or do I need to invest in a whole new wardrobe?

I’m just over 5 months pp but I’m not going to be losing all the baby weight until I stop pumping :/
Whoever said that breastfeeding will help you drop all the weight was either a genetically engineered mutant or a liar! Hah. I tried getting on MyFitnessPal & logging in my calories and I lost output in a hurry. I suppose for now I have to pick between EITHER my pre-pregnancy jeans OR providing breastmilk for DD, but not both.
Anyway, I’m definitely excited to participate in accountabilty & support! I’m training for a half marathon and I try to eat reasonably healthy. I know that my pre-pregnancy body might be a ways off, but I can still be really health and have a high level of fitness 🙂

@DaneLady: My best fiend loses SO much weight now that she’s breastfeeding. She’s thinner now than before she was pregnant! I hope I’m like that, but I’m not counting on it. I know everybody is different.

@DaneLady: the only time I could get under the last 7 pounds to lose was when I stopped breastfeeding. I got pregnant again before I was done losing but I think I would have gotten there. Breastfeeding helps drop quickly but you still hold on to some fat to help produce the milk, plus the big breasts weigh more than our regular ones!

I love that you started this feed! Exactly what I need! I have a 21 month old and my youngest will be 3 months on the 9th so I getting added to my SO’s gym membership on the 9th so I can take them to the gyms day care. (SO already takes our 21 month old on Saturdays and we found a gym that we love and trust the day care at).
i have finally lost the baby weight and am back to my pre pregancy weight but don’t have my pre pregnancy body :/ my butt is completely flat and saggy 🙁 and stomach is completely flat (2 c sections). As excited as I am about being able to work out I’m really stressed out about it. I know it sounds dumb but I’m really insecure about how out of shape I am and don’t even want to go to the gym because dont know where to start. We can’t afford for me to get a personal trainer, if anyone has any advice on how to start working out and stay motivate I would be very grateful!

@Allyg: Hi! we’re in the same boat!
I have a 21 months old and a 3 weeks old, both were c-sections.
I am now 1-2 pounds away from my pre-pregnancy weight (2nd pregnancy), and would like to lose about 5-10 more to be back in my comfortable range from my first pre-pregnancy weight.
I look forward to working out again, but I am intimidated because I am nowhere near my usual fitness level and it feels like I’ll be starting from scratch… I’ll start at home before hitting the gym. We have a spinning bike and I have a few workout DVDs that I’ll use, starting with the 30 Day Shred since it’s so short…
In 3 weeks, eeeek!

@mommytobee: yay glad there’s someone that feels the way I do, and I meant my stomach is NOT flat lol, I just ordered the 30 day shred so going to do that to get some confidence to go back to the gym

i can finally start working out next week, can’t wait!
i am now at 135lbs, sometimes 136… the real work starts now, as I become more and more sleep deprived and as a result, I feel hungry all the time and have less self control over junk food cravings.
it will be a challenge to fit workouts in my day.

Well I seem to be pretty much almost alone here, but I want to keep posting in case other new mommies want to join whenever you’re ready!
7 weeks today. I started the 30 day Shred last Monday and I really like it. I thought it might be too easy for me, and it would be too easy for my normal self but I find it perfect to ease back into a workout routine. And even if it’s not so hard , I can already see some definition… I am also doing a 30-day plank challenge.. so this helps as well.
As for my weight, I reached 134 during the week, but we had an especially difficult week sleep-wise with the baby, and I am an emotional eater. So this morning I weighed in at 136… But I’m confident I’ll be back on track this week.
Today is day 1 of the Biggest Loser challenge at work. So I am especially motivated to lose as much as possible, even if my chances of winning are slim (I don’t have much to lose compared to some others who will shed pounds faster..)
See you next week for my next update ladies! I sure hope I’ll see other mamas by then!

i am 6 1/2 months post partum and although i am now weighing in at less than i was pre pregnancy i still have a horrible pooch which i would like to get rid of.
My tummy muscles seperated pretty badly whilst i was pregnant and i still have a 1 1/2 finger gap between the muscles so crunches and sit ups are out of the question. how can i tone this one little bit without losing anymore weight!!
For what its worth i bottlefed out of choise and i found my weight dropped pretty quickly but i was very slim to begin with.

I was 125lbs pre-preg, and am currently 26 weeks and about 140.
I’m due in February, and I will DEFINITELY be back on here! I lost 51lbs in the 2 yars before getting KU, so it’s KILLING me to see these numbers on the scale again!

Wow it’s been a while!
I want to go back to my pre-first-pregnancy weight, so lose about 7 to 10 pounds. I am fluctuating between 1-2 pounds under my pre-second-pregnancy weight and 1-2 pounds over it.
I can’t seem to get under that, even though I am exercising 5-6 days per week and eating reasonably well. It’s really frustrating. Ugh! I was at that weight before I even started exercising, so sometimes I wonder “why bother??” . Only because exercising has been part of my daily life for years and I love the feeling of it, I love knowing I’m healthy and strong. But I’d also like the benefit of losing a few pounds/inches……..
Please share your tips on “the last 10 pounds”.
