An empire waist dress would leave room for her post partum tummy. She should be sure to buy a size large enough in the bust area for the anticipated increase in her breast size. It is much easier to take a dress in than to let it out of there is not enough fabric in the seams.

Congrats to your MOH.  I think you are handling this really well.  I have 2 kids and have done bridal alterations.  So, my recommendation would be to buy a dress soon… before she starts showing too much.  I would order it a size larger than she is pre-pregnancy.  She will still have some weight and tummy bulge at your wedding, so I would keep that into consideration when choosing a dress.  I would do something with draping/rouching at the waist, or an empire waist.  The last thing she will want to do right after she has a baby is go dress shopping.  Also, I doubt you are going to want to stress about this while you are doing other last minute wedding stuff.  Good luck (fellow Dec. bride)!

If I were you I would wait and just get one off the rack the month-of. Since she doesn’t have to match anyone, it will (should) be easy to find something you both agree on!

@helokiti1014:  Recommend you seek the input of your MOH and the advice of a saavy bridal store pro. Between the three of you, you’ll get some good options!
