New Orleans Brides - anyone used Benachi House?

I am just wondering if anyone out there has ever used or been to an event at the Benachi House in New Orleans. I am in love with this location when I look at it online. I have sent two of my maids to look at it for me since I am out of state and both of them say it is beautiful but "might" be in a iffy neighborhood at night. I can't seem to find a different location that I like as much as this one.

So does anyone have any background on this location?

We had the most beautiful wedding at the house!!! We set everything up ourselves and had the run of the house the entire day. I was so pleased with the way everything turned out! We did have to shut our band down because they said they were being too loud and they were going to call the cops but the band wasn't even using their amps! Other weddings have had this problem as well and cops have been called multiple times. The venue next door was having a party at the same time and we could hear their music over ours.

If you are using a DJ I don't see it being a problem, but a band was very important to us. Also, don't place the music by the street because that is where the neighbors are a problem with calling the cops. As for the neighborhood itself, it wasn't a problem at all and there were two security officers on duty.
