i voted before i saw the post. i was never a fan of tiffany rings (somewhere my FI is breathing s sigh of relief) i LOVE antique rings. :) this is my lovely

I LOVE the "antique" classic ring! Mostly because I am very into antique/vintage pieces. The antique ring is GORGEOUS :)
I like simple and classic (less grooves to keep clean) so I voted Tiffany setting.
I'm super partial because i have the first one LOL but I love how clean and simple it is :)
@lumos: Love the tiffany, and thought I would like it more... but now that I saw the second one... LOVEEEE it. It's unique without being too "out there."
Oh my gosh that second ring took my breath away! Stunning! Then again, I'm a sucker for pave and details ;)
I love the classic simplicity of the tiffany solitaire. I loved for it.
I love vintage engagement rings... I have one!
I love Tiffany rings probably more for the name than the actual rings, but then I saw your second one and literally exclaimed "Ooooohhhh!!" it's gorgeous!!!
I have a vintage ring myself, and I LOVE it, but that's not what I would have chosen for myself if I got to choose. I prefer classic solitaires w/no detail on the band.
however, I do appreciate how unique my ring is - so that is a plus. I could pick it out of a lineup if I had to!
@FutureFoxWife: I realllllllly love your ring! is it a family heirloom? Sorry if you told us already I'm another post and I missed it.

I love the second one! The diamonds and etching in the band are so pretty!
Oooh....BIG fan of the second ring! They are both pretty, I just love that the second is unique!
I absolutely love the second one!!! It is so gorgeous and unique. Tiffany's is nice, but not unique at all.
Thanks for your input, everyone!
I went to check out the wax the jeweler made of the Classic today, and I tried on an antique ring while there. Though I *really* love the look of the antique ring, that type of setting looks way better on a computer screen than my finger.
I'm going with the Classic!
@sconzzy: While that may be your opinion, the Classic is as popular as it is for a reason - it's elegant, balanced, has a presence, and is, as its name suggests, classic.
I'm happy with my decision :)
@pinkshoes: I'm in a profession where my hands get dirty A LOT, so I'm totally on board with less mucked-up grooves to clean!
@janie-janie: I identify with that distinction - though I absolutely adore antique pieces, somehow they just don't work right for me when I put them on. I may go for a wedding band with more detail, though. We'll see :)
i picked the 2nd one because i like more blingy rings. but you can't go wrong with tiffany :)
@lumos: YAY on your decision! Love the Classic. You can always bling it up with your wedding band too. :)
I love antique rings. The one you picked out is sooo BEAUTIFUL! That's my style though...
You have to do what looks best on you. Congratulations on your Tiffany pick!!!
I love the more detailed. It is pretty simialr to my ring, so I may be a bit biased :) Personally, I love the sparkle in the band, but my sister has one very similar to the classic tiffany you posted and it is stunning! Sorry, I guess that doesn't help much...
I'm totally cool with most people liking the antique ring more. In fact, if I were basing my decision only on the pictures, I'd pick the antique ring too!
But, as people say, it's important to try rings on to really know what suits you - unfortunately, the style I absolutely adore just does not look right when I put it on. But the classic style looks wondeful.
Thanks to those who have been supportive of my pick, even though they prefer the other one! - I love how positive the hive is. I would totally do the same since my opinion may not jive with another's, and it's important for each person to be happy. Like naenae_CA said, we have to choose what looks best on us! :)
Like a lot of other women on here, I'm a sucker for detail. What do you feel suits your personality more? Are you someone that prefers more ornate, antique things in your overall life or are you someone that prefers the simplicity?
@colli459: Totally simplicity, I realized. Though I love the idea of antique design, I realistically gravitate to clean lines with *slight* accents, so the simple ring with the beautiful profile (the Classic) works really well for me.
I ended up going with the classic :)
He's got it in his posession and I'm just waiting for him to pop the question!

Ok, new poll - I realized I prefer normal (elevated) baskets to cathedral settings.
This time, they're both 6-prong. Try to imagine the other setting without the "pretzels" on the basket.
Which one do you like more THIS time and why? (Click on the links to see photos.)
