Hello! I very recently joined this site (yesterday) to reply to a few posts I found interesting. However, I was alerted (rather rudely) this AM that one post I replied to was very old, and nobody needs my advice anymore. I should have checked the date more closely, but jeez! Nice to meet you too, ya know?
Anyway, as I said, I’m very new, & would *love* some direction from you more seasoned users on what you find most helpful about this site, what categories seem to draw the most useful replies, and just really any tips at all about getting to know people in a friendly & mutually-helpful way. I’m excited to be getting married, & am excited to talk to people about my experience and theirs…as positively as possible! 🙂
Thank you all in advance for any help, and if I’m posting this in a wrong or iffy place, please do redirect me to a more appropriate thread.

I just came by to say Hello.
I just post randomly on places so I can’t really answer your questions.

Hi there! I’m sorry you got a rude response, for the most part the forums here are pretty civil (especially compared to other corners of the internets). I also just post randomly (although I love the ring threads, so many sparklies!)
Anyhoodle, welcome to the bee!

As for tips, there aren’t too many things you need to know. You kind of got the gist, even if it was communicated rudely, that there’s not much benefit to adding your two-cents on advice-related posts from years ago. You should also know that it’s frowned upon to make multiple/identical/darn near identical posts in different categories at the same time (say, making on post, putting it on the Engagement board, the copying it and posting it again on the Proposals board). Additionally, no one appreciates if you make a post, get a bunch of responses, then delete and make an identical post a day or two later. You can only delete three posts you create ever, I believe, so you won’t want to be deleting posts all willy-nilly either!
If you’re trying to buy or sell something, that’s better reserved for the Classifieds boards.
Other stuff… It’s obviously frowned upon to start drama, and personal attacks are of course a no-no!
That’s all that comes to mind right now. Welcome to the community!
ETA: One more thing! It’s not appreciated when you create a thread, get a bunch of responses, and never respond to any of them. Abandoning a thread without a single response/update when people have taken the time to respond can really come across as rude or unappreciative.
