Welcome!! Awesome story. How about the next holiday or quirky gift day you get him a bicycle tire and a little note saying "Im ready for the other half of that bike" or evena bell for a bike LOL

@blondilocks: That is a great idea. I never thought to get an accessory for the bike...I know I am starting to see Spring Bike Tune-up coupons...perhaps one should be taped to his door???
I'm a new "encore" waiting for a ring too! We've been together for 3 years, lived together for 2 and we talk engagement and wedding quite often, but the anticipation is awful!!! I told him I wanted and engagement ring and he bought me a rock polisher as a joke. sigh. But I have hope and am (after 30 years lol) developing patience! Here's to the future!!!

Hello bees! I wanted to introduce myself. I will be an encore bride as they are called on here, and I am waiting for my proposal...and the other half of a bike...(a bit long) pull up a chair.
We were set-up, a blind date Nov 2009, by a mutual friend. I had been divorced 2 years, separated in my heart, nearly 7 and he separated 2.5 years, waiting for divorce the same amount of time.
Our 1st Valentines was right around the time that Governor from South Carolina, was found to be hanging out with his 'soul mate' in Central America, never mind he was married at the time. In the weeks that followed as the wife hit the TV circuit, it was shared the guy was a terrible cheapskate. He had, over a series of big red letter calendar days, given his wife, a millionaire in her own right, drawings of half bikes as gifts. The final gift being a drawing of a complete bike and a used $25 garage sale bike!!!
Fast forward to that 1st V-Day and we had finished dinner, was at his place opening gifts, he got a North Face pullover, I got lotion, Victoria Secret gift card and a card. In the card was a drawing of half a bike! I laughed so hard I nearly peed! He totally got my sense of humor and I think took a risk doing so.
Since then, ‘the other half of the bike’ has been our cheeky code for a ring.
As luck would have it, he won a bike in a tournament Friday night and it is just sitting in his garage. We are also SERIOUSLY talking marriage, engagement, moving in and all the details associated with everything. He wants me to move in with him, before engagement (that will be another post).
I have to somehow get the newly won bike into my next mention of MY other half of the bike…suggestions?
