That trend is actually a few years old, but they are entertaining non the less.
I feel like if its done right, it can be awesome but most of the ones I have seen online are totally half assed and kind of look a little ridiculous. I was all about re-creating the the JK wedding entrance for our ceremony but then I realized that I will look like a total jackass and nixed the idea.
OMG! We did an entrance dance instead of the traditional one. They messed it up a little bit, but no one new the difference. It was soooooo much fun! Here's a sneak peak.....

I agree it has to be done right and you wanna make sure you have the right kind of guests that would appreciate it.
We are taking dance classes (starting next week). We are dancing off of a slow song for two minutes and then a fast song. I can dance, but idk if FH can. lol Nobody knows what we are doing because they think we are squares and nerds(even though I was a cheerleader and he was an all around athlete). lol
I think we'll do a twist of this, if FI agrees. I want the traditional dance between the couple, the mother/son and mother/daughter dance in our case, and then we'll ask all the guests to the floor so our photog can get a few large group photos. Then, once we've got the whole gang on the floor and photos done, bust out the SHOUT! and get the party started. Nothing planned and choreographed, but really, how can you not rock out to the Isley Brothers?
BF is totally on board. He says he "has ideas." I can't wait.

I have just discovered a potential new wedding trend in first dances! Youtube 'surprise wedding dance' or 'surprise first dance.' Hilarious! Now if only I could get my guy on board! :)
