Is the construction going to be done by then?

@Miss.PeanutButter:  Construction projects frequently go long, especially major ones. If you’re hoping to get married in early May (as opposed to the last weekend), I’d be nervous bout booking there!

@Miss.PeanutButter:  I haven’t been out to see it per se but I know exactly where it is.   It’s very awkwardly located next to a major street and is at the entrance to a strip mall.  There are plenty of venues in Austin with this feeling that are a little more “wedding” feeling and not like people can take a quick walk over to the Verizon store or petsmart, if they want to.

ETA:  Unless they plan on wiping out the grass and trees near it, there is also going to be a pretty serious parking issue there. It’s seriously at the entrance of a very popular shopping area.

@Miss.PeanutButter:  Oh no I just realized you’re looking for May ’14… That’ll be tough.  How far outside of Austin would you be willing to travel? Have you looked at places in Dripping Springs?  I hear you with how hard it is to find a venue on short notice. Unfortunately that is wedding season and all the usual suspects have been booked for a year.  We had to resort to a Friday for that reason, and even then not all venues were available.  To be honest, I would probably not get married there.  Even if the whole thing happens inside, there’s really nothing really close by for outside pictures.  And May in Austin, you’d probably want to get outside for some big blue sky!

@Miss.PeanutButter:  First places that come to mind are:

Vista West Ranch

Barr Mansion

Texas Old Town

Memory Lane

Pecan Springs Ranch

Red Corral Ranch

But none of these are really in central Austin area.
