I never set NYE resolutions because I never stick with them……usually the only thing me and FI do is like a small pact when we do our toast for the new year and sometimes we stick to it

I generally make goals for myself like for example my 2014 goals are:

– Pay my car loan down to 5k

– Start my study in psychology

– Organise a cruise towards the end of 2014 as I’m already going on a thailand trip in June.

– Save enough to be put towards my first home in 2015

Sometimes I do make resolutions.

This year I am resolving to drink less soda and more water, and reach 12,000 exercise minutes for the year (I made 11, 350 this year).

I don’t usually make them, but this year I’m going to try to do yoga every day until my wedding (February 8th). That doesn’t seem too hard, so hopefully I can make it happen!

I never have one. It’s just like a promise that is going to be broken.

To get DH to use a check book registry or an app on his phone for it. For me,I need to not procrastinate so much,I’m horrible about it.

I don’t normally or by March I’ve forgotten what it was I was meant to be doing or not doing.

This year though I’ve got;

  1. No swearing at work, hopefull resulting in less at home
  2. Organised home

I made some but now that I’ve broken my foot, the starting will have to be delayed =( I can’t remember which but I know like, drink more water, wash my makeup off before bed every single night instead of being lazy 2 or 3 nights a week lol Exercise more once my foot is healed. Idk. Nothing big.

Honestly, I usually lose my list by March anyway lol

This year I have a couple resolutions that I will probably be able to keep unlike ones in previous years.

1 Finish up all 4 parts of the insurance exam

2 saving for my trip to vegas or a cruise for next year

3 trying to drink at least 2 liters of water minimum every day.

I make resolutions every year. To me, they are more like goals that I would like to accomplish rather than promises that will just get broken. Sometimes I achieve my goals and sometimes I don’t. This year, my resolutions are:

1. Lose weight/get healthy (this has been my top resolution for like 5 years lol)

2. Get pregnant with #2

3. Pay off credit cards/build up savings

4. Finish home improvement projects (lay sod, install guttering, sprinkler system, etc)

I hate setting unrealistic resolutions lol. I never ever achieve them. This year, I just want to be happy. 2013 was a big year for me (I turned 21, got my license, got a house, got married) so this year being happy will probably be good enough. Oh, and I want to get better at doing hair and makeup on myself lol.

I stopped making any but the most achievable resolutions, and had the same one for a few years running: Drink More Champagne!!!

This was wildly successful. 😛

But I need to lose at least a LITTLE weight for my wedding, and at the moment I’m just gaining and gaining. I know I should make that my resolution, but I hate failing, and I have literally NO will power.

Ugh, I’m in whine mode. lmao.

Hm, I would say 2014 “intentions”, not resolutions.

My intentions are to be a kinder and more empathetic person in 2014. Exercise more patience. Do something kind often, but expect nothing in return. I will want to live by this quote:

“Never over-estimate your power to change others, because you can’t. Never under-estimate your power to change yourself, because you can.” ~Wayne Dyer

I don’t like the word “resolution” as it tends to imply temporary changes that last 365 days. Health, being a better person; etc are all lifestyle changes; i.e. permanent changes.
