I’m using Alexandra Townsend, who was recommended to be my another bride on these boards who had a great experience with her and who was also getting married in NYC.  (She used her to help coordinate her Central Park wedding; I’m using her for mine which is at the Bowery Hotel.) Her rate is $400 for three pre-wedding meetings plus day-of coordination.  She has been great so far!  Very organized, always prompt with replies, and seems 100% on top of everything.  My wedding isn’t until June but I’m confident that she will be money WELL spent.  Message me if you’d like her contact info!

Check out the classified section on Wedding Bee! I’ve also heard really good things about Exquisite Affairs, but I’ve never worked with them personally.

Good luck!

Are you using a caterer? Some of the catering quotes I’ve gotten include the DOC aspect (Real Food Catering is one of them) and the reviews for their DOC are pretty good. Best part is it’s a lot cheaper than hiring a specific DOC (about $400 vs the regular $1000+). Good luck!

I also used Tara from EAP. She did a great job and I highly recommend. Price wise there was also no comparision. I think it cost $850 (I was just married in March so this is a current price).

Hey Sarah,

I actually just contacted EAP a few days ago to inquire about pricing. I think at the last meetup I mentioned that I’m planning a lot of DIY projects and need someone to help me make sure it goes without a hitch on the day of. When they got back to me, they’re saying that they are not offering DOC services for 2013 anymore (so not sure if they’re still doing it for 2012). Then, the cheapeast DOC option in their pricing guide was $1500 so I’m not sure how the other brides got it for under $1000!!

Maybe you’ll have better luck if you contact her with a 2012 wedding date 🙂 PM me with your email if you want me to fwd you the pricing I received from them!

I live in the Capital region and most of the planners I contacted started at $1500 for DOC. I felt this was way high, and did wind up finding someone who is awesome for $600. But it took a lot of searching!

@sarahbabs:  I am using Katie Berger from Sara Kate events for my wedding on June 29th.  She’s been great so far!
