Hello! 

I'm Bridepower, I have written several posts now as I joined about three weeks ago.

I would love to get together with other brides!  One of the reasons is:

At this time I am the only person I know getting married.  Amongst my friends are women who are divorced, cheated on, miserable and bitter who despise men and who I'm pretty sure are unhappy and jealous that I'm getting married (some of them are bridesmaids).  I only have one friend (who is happily married and is my MOH) with whom I can jump up and down with excitement and joy about getting married!

My FH"s large family are genuinely excited for us (they are also happily married) but I don't know them well and they live in another state from me anyway.  I have a tiny family, only know my immediate relatives.  My sister who does not speak to me has an unhappy marriage with infidelity and is also jealous I"m getting married from what I understand. 

I wish I had more people in my life with whom I can share my joy.  Then I got the idea of hanging out with other happy brides I could find through this website or others, either as a support group or just even a one-time get together!

After the holidays would work for me, preferrably after mid-January.

I'm in Staten Island, NY.  But I can travel to other areas of NYC.

Great!  I didn't even know there was a NY meetup.  Well, I just joined.

Where are you in NY? What town would work for you? 

I'd be interested!  I live in Brooklyn, and don't drive, so I'd definitely prefer something in Manhattan or Brooklyn, but Queens or the Bronx could work too. :)

Hi everyone!!! So sorry I haven't been able to respond, being on vacation finally has had me just resting and sitting on the couch.  This is the first time I'm checking the responses to the idea of meeting up.

Ok, Manhattan works for me too! 

I'm off until the third week of January so I'm pretty flexible. 

What days of the week work for everyone?  A weekday?  A weekend?

i'm actually in nyc on fri. working.  i get out in the early eve. i'm on 34th street by herald square.

at this point except for and jan 1. and also jan 15 (i'll be away at the in-laws :) i'm free the other fridays in jan.

how does this sound to everyone?

if fri doesn't work i could certainly do another w/e day.

I'm good with Thursday the 14th! As long as it's after 5. Let me know! :)

Unfortunately I can't do Thursday evenings, I work on that night in Staten Island.

Is a Friday evening at all a possibility?

Fridays are generally best for me, since I work afternoons and evenings the rest of the week.

great! yeah like i said i'm at 34th street herald square, nyc. done in the evening on Fridays.  i'm willing to travel tho.

Friday the 22 works for me!  Perfect timing as I am going with some my bridesmaids (lol) that Sunday to look at dresses.  Could use the support.

Ok, midtown!  Fabulous.  Where should we meet, a bar? Restaurant?  If there's going to be a number of us we should find a place that will have enough seats for everyone.

And does around 8 pm work?
