Hi CityBee, welcome to the boards! we didn't speak with the two florists that you're considering so i dont have specific advice for working with them. In general i would say bring pictures of what you like during the consultation to ensure that the person that will be making your BK understands what you want. Also, I encourage getting everything that is important to you in writing. My contract was pretty vague (just the flower names) and I had a bad feeling that the florist wasn't going to remember the design that we talked about. 3 days prior to the wedding, she called and said that she couldnt get some of the flowers, not b/c it wasn't available, but b/c she didn't order them. And my BK ended up looking different. For what it is worth, the prices were afforable considering other quotes that I got... however it came with extra heartache and i would gladly pay more to avoid. if you are interested in the quote for a price comparison, pls send me a PM. HTH and good luck with your planning!
I absolutely love FluersNYC. I've worked with Jessie and her work is gorgeous.

I went to see a bunch of florists (Atlas, Michael George, Charles Hervish and Tantawan). We narrowed it down to Michael George and Tantawan and eventually went with Tantawan. Impressed by all, shocked by the cost of them all. Everyone seemed around the same ballpark pricewise though. How large is your wedding? That will have a direct impact on price.
Diana Gould did my future brother in law's wedding but it was 10 years ago so I don't know how relevant their experience would be. The flowers were beautiful and apparently they were great to work with.
don't have experience w/ either of those florists but we figured out what we could afford to spend on flowers given overall budget, what we needed for flowers (no. of centerpieces, bouquet(s), etc) and asked the florist to come up with their best ideas to fulfill both. we picked the one that gave best suited our ideals within our budget. hth
Flowers by Richard in NYC does amazing work and has very good package prices. He'll also work within your budget.
@ CityBee -- I'm gonna go out on a limb here & say you're getting married at one of the clubs in NR right? They're such pretty places but I feel like they always stick you with the wholemandatory vendors thing, which kinda sucks.
My MOH was married at Glen Island & used Diana Gould. DG is def more expensive because you're also paying for the reputation but I've heard you get more for your money. MOH's in-laws paid for the flowers, but when they offered cash instead it was a lot less. See what they say.
Arcadia is good too, I went there to look but found another florist who could do the same thing for much less.
My advice would be to figure out what you think you might want for centerpieces, bring the ideas to both vendors & see who has the better prices. Good Luck & let us know. ;)
Diana Gould was one of the recommended florists of my venue. I called and emailed to set up an appointment, and she never responded or called back. guess she doesn't need my business....
we went with Spitz & Peck; they were by far the most professional and gave the most detailed proposal, so that I could actually envision the end result. That said, I haven't seen the end result yet...so who knows? Good luck!!!

Hi Ladies, I have to admit, I am having major anxiety about my wedding flowers. I tried really hard to pretend that i didn't care about flowers- but I do care... a lot! hahahha.... Does anyone have experience working with Arcadia and/or Diana Gould? i have to choose between the two florists. I've heard that typically, DG is much nicer, but much more expensive...I know the basics: stay in season, use local flowers, but at the risk of sounding cheesy or rude, what kinds of budgets did you give them and what did it produce? I've tried looking at other blogs, etc but there is such a discrepancy between cities and states it was hard to get a firm idea.
Thank you ,
:)
