I was in a complete panic over this. Sadly, the answer for me was no. We booked a block at the best we could find, send a very apologetic email with a range of options and offered to check out hotels or apt. rental options for anyone who wanted us to check it out first.

I have to agree with the PP. Hotels do not come cheap here. I do have good luck with the name your own price options, but those tend to be better deals when you are booking last minute, and it would be impossible to do a block of hotels that way. You can maybe consider getting a hotel block outside the city, in Jersey somewhere perhaps? And then providing a shuttle to the wedding site. I wouldn’t do that without a shuttle though, because it would be a huge pain for your guests to provide their own transportation into the city.

I had a pretty good deal with the Roosevelt Hotel – I think it was $159 or $179 a night, and it’s a gorgeous hotel in midtown, but not a terrible part of midtown.  The rooms are great and they were nice and easy to work with, and like I said, gave me a deal that is great for NYC standards.

I am not sure what your budget is for the guests but most hotels in the citywill be $120 and up

No matter what go ahead and blockAa few hotels. We had 3 options for our guests. We made one the “home base”. I stayed there and my family.

We stayed at the Eventi in Chelsea. The rates were all around $239-$289 depending on number of beds. They we so helpful. I got ready there and they upgrade me and FoB to a suite and willupgradAnna additional for the groom’s parents too. And just charged price of king room.

We booked two more in the Chelsea area. Fairfield by Marriott and Hilton gardens. Both of those were about $139 a night.

There are lots of hotels in Chelsea that will work with you. We took an hour to walk around and check them out. We just walked in and askedoor help with a block. They will give you a little tour and show you the rooms too.

Hope this helps.
