Hi Ladies! I am trying to plan my wedding on the west of Florida but I currently live in NY. I plan on visiting a few venues in february including The Post Card Inn (St. Pete Beach), The Inn on Fifth (Naples), Bilmar Beach Resort (St. Petersburg), and The Grand Plaza Resort (St. Pete Beach). We are planning our wedding for October 2013 with a beach ceremony as a must. Does anyone have any reviews of these venues or any advice for a west coast FL wedding?!!

You can find tons of reviews on variety of locations here or on Wedding Wire. We were married in Sarasota on the floating chapel with reception at the Lido beach resort, i’m not familiar with locations that you’ve mentioned, sorry 🙁

It depends what your wedding theme style is. Dressy or laid back. The Grand Plaza resort is definately the more dressy of the venues you have listed. It is absolutely beautiful. My wedding planner just did a fabulous wedding there. The post card inn and the Bilmar beach resort are definately way more laid back. It just depends what you are looking for. You can PM me if you have anymore questions.

hey, i do not know if you are still looking for a venue or not but I just got married at the Powell Crosley Estate in Sarasota. I was on a budget and it worked for me. I did not have to decorate much at all to make the place look great. my family LOVED the venue soo much it is right on the water but it is like intercoastal i think still a great view though!
As for a beach wedding it will be cheaper and you go with it thats great but here are my reservations. It almost always rains when you want to do something outdoors it seems haha it rained my wedding day luckily in the morning but stayed extremely overcast all the rest of the day, anyways so on the beach you have no where to go if it rains, at the estate we were able to go inside if need be. It is a very unique building with lots of history so during cocktail hour everyone was looking at all the rooms reading the history looking at the water and the fish and had a lovely time.
Also with a beach wedding your pictures are always going to have that 80 year old man in a spedo in the background with some kids running around. never fails. you always get some random people in your shots you wish you could forget. not to mention me personally i wanted it very private, on the beach EVERYONE gets to see.
so that being said. the catering company we went with was affordable catering very good prices and did a great job at the wedding. We looked around ALOT when it came to catering and they were the best we could go with on our limited budget.
our photographer was supper nice! http://www.rjmphotos.com and very good priced
our dj canceled on us last minute literally the night before at 10 and told us his friend would do it for 500 more (i think they scammed us the whole time) anyways so do not go with DJ MANNY
if you have any other questions let me know. i will be happy to answere
also i have my wedding stuff up for sale 🙂
