Longtime lurker, first time poster.  I woke up today and realized my wedding is in about 8 months and I feel like I'm falling behind schedule on planning and executing.  My wedding is hugely DIY and everything takes longer than it should.  ;-)

Anyway, I love so many of the clever DIY ideas I've seen here that I figured I should register if only to express my thanks.

I have been lurking the site for a couple weeks now and finally decided to register and try posting! My name is Shasta, I am 24 years old, and I currently live in Washington state. I got engaged on October 26, 2011 to my best friend and the love of my life, but our wedding isn't for a few years due to college and other important things. Most of my wedding planning is simply for fun and to cheer me up a little during times when I'm down. Until now I have never cared one bit about a wedding, so I'm rather surprised at how into it I am getting. The good thing is that my fiance is thrilled over my choice of a beach wedding, and I'm hoping he'll like the rest I'm planning! I've really enjoyed reading a lot of posts on here and most everyone here seems so nice and helpful. I'm really looking forward to getting to know everyone! <3

Hi all! My name is Jolene and I have found this site invaluable in terms of advice and inspiration.So I thought it was time to join! I got engaged August 2010 so we've had quite a long engagement. Wedding is in 3 months! I'm freaking myself out because there suddenly seems like a million things I haven't done or thought of! I have a tendancy to get super obsessed, and I also procrastinate a lot because I seem to love everything and can't make a decision!

Hey everyone...technically I'm a newbee however, I have been on this site a lot since I got engaged January 4, 2011 but I never had anything to post. My wedding is March 11, 2012 so I'm a little late to the game. I am working out details at this point so I'm hoping to get a lot of ideas and input in the next month.

Hi everyone, I discovered this site by Pinterest posts, and I really haven't had a chance to look much. I got engaged on October 7, 2011 to the most amazing man I have ever met. We finally decided on a date last night, actually - September 14, 2013.  We want to do an outdoor wedding in Pittsburgh, and hopefully find a venue that we can do the ceremony/reception together. I'm excited to start browsing and getting some good DIY ideas since we will definitely have a budget.  :)

I would count myself as a newbie, too... though, I've done random google searches for wedding related items and for some reason, I'm always directed here, to Wedding Bee! SO - I finally signed up and am so grateful for it!

My FI and I dated for over 6.5 years before he popped the question. 6.5 years sounds long - however, we are High School Sweethearts - began dating when we were 16! So - by the time we tie the knot, we would be together for 8 years... and I fall in love every single day!

I'm planning for a fall wedding this year - and the journey so far has been a rollercoaster, but it'd be weird if wedding planning went smooth, right?! But, thanks to this site (SERIOUSLY) things have been going much more smooth!

I look forward to posting, replying, and just getting to know some of you!

I'm a newbee!

I've been engaged for almost a year now, but am just now getting to start planning our wedding. Life, in the form of a job loss for me the week after getting back home from the proposal vacation, a move in with his parents, a very sick mother (recovered, thank goodness) and now a job loss for him, has kinda gotten in the way of our wedding. But we have a date and are putting the deposit down on a venue tomorrow.

I met my honey online, and he proposed on the two-year anniversary of our first date. It was a very sweet proposal, and I can't wait to be married to him.

I'll be 39 in a few days and he turned 36 last year. This is a first marriage for both of us, so it feels a little like we're late bloomers.

I guess that's enough of an introduction....

@bakerella:  Hello everyone.  My name is Bridgitte'. I have three wonderful children (ages 22, 17, and 4).  I'm new to WeddingBee.  My fiance proposed to me in November 2011 in front of the Visitors Center at the Baltimore Inner Harbor. We initially were planning to wed at Hard Rock Hotel Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. Then the airfare prices came out and we were like Holy Smoke, we don't want to pay $500+ for airfare or ask our friends to pay those prices either. So we are back to square one and looking at different options for our December wedding.
