Congrats and welcome! I’m having trouble with bridesmaids dresses as well. Don’t go to Kelly’s Closet, the girls that work there were really fail at showing us the Thread dresses. I’m not going to get the girls to do 300$ dresses that are sight unseen as well as homegirl wouldn’t show me any swatches. David’s Bridal was fail, as everything was like polyesterapalooza. Blech.

That’s so exciting that you’re getting married in Jamaica!

Welcome. I did send you a private message about the dresses I chose. I can’t wait I have 52 days. I also chose a destination wedding to try and save money but it seems everyone wants to go on a vacation (lol). The normal temp in Panama City Beach Fl for that time of year is high around 79 and low in the 60’s. I’m doing a beach wedding for the ceremony and a indoor reception. Are you indoor for ceremony and reception? Jamaica sounds sooo nice and I looked at doing it there but my mom and my 2 grandmas wouldn’t travel that far.

Welcome and congrats!

As for bridesmaid dresses, have you seen the two birds dress? If not check out http://www.twobirdsbridesmaid.com/

They are convertible dresses that are a light jersey knit material and come in a bunch of colors. We’re using them for our bridesmaids and I may even get the dress for me because I love it so much! LOL They are on the pricey side, however they can be worn over and over again and look great on every body type!

Hope that helps!

Welcome to the hive, they’ve been here for me more times than they can count, I’m SURE that someone will have a good suggestion for you.

I chose to let each Bridesmaid or Best Man choose a different LBD from a major department store.  They were all bought together, but not all at the same store, and no two dresses are alike.  I figured that this way they would get something that they loved and something that they would wear again.  It was just a bonus that every store that a dress was bought at was having a huge sale and they were all bought at 50% off.

Good luck!  And Congrats!

welcome!  Another option since you have almost a year to go is to pick a fabric and have a seamstress make each of your bridesmaid’s dresses.  I went that route and the dress ended up being custom fitted in the style each girl picked for under $125 each. Would have been cheaper had I not picked Silk Duponi for the fabric 🙂

I’d also recommend watching Nordstrom’s website.  We almost picked a dress from their everyday options that also would have been under $100 each.

I just found my dresses at Bridals by Lori. They were so nice and the process was smooth and easy! If you are in the Atlanta area go for a visit. They carry Jim Hjelm, Vera Wang, and a couple other brands of Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses. I ditto scissors on Kelly’s Closet, they have less than 10 Bridesmaid or Best Man dress samples to show you. FAIL.
